As I sit here watching this game, I ask myself over and over. Why? I just don't get it. Why? For two weeks you have known that you are playing a team that is better against the pass than the run. Why? They are not that good defending the run. Run the football.
First half. Brett Favre throws the ball almost 20 times. The result? 3 points. Thomas Jones Gashes the defense for runs, and what is the playcalling? He gets 7 or 8 carries. Why? Surely at halftime, you gameplan to run the ball, and rely on the pass later. They have one series, running the ball 8 times, and passing once. The result? A TOUCHDOWN.
Why? What in the world are you thinking when you just saw how effective your running game is, so on your next possession, what do you do? Pass? And then drop back to pass again? And then drop back and pass again? WHAT KIND OF IDIOTIC PLAYCALLING IS THIS? Why? Now I'm watching the last 1:24 left of this game wondering what this team has against running the ball.
When your passing 2 or 3 times more than running, even when running has been your asset in this game, are you ignorant, or stubborn? Do you not like Thomas Jones? Is someone making you install pass plays for Brett Favre. I am a New Yorker. I am a lifelong Jets fan. And more importantly, I am not a fool! Stick with what works!!!!!!! I don't give a damn if Brett Favre or Neo from the Matrix is behind center. RUN THE BALL. RUN THE BALL. RUN THE BALL.
