First and foremost, do not confuse this with power rankings.  This is a 5 point system where how you have played this season and last season factors into the ranking as well as the draft, FA signings and loses.  The system works like this,

5 = elite team, won over 10 games, made small changes to perfect the lineup, and you are doing well this year.

4 = great team, consistent 10 game winner, made some big changes in a lineup for the better, are above .500 this year.

3 = average team, consistent .500 record every year, had some losses via FA but recovered in the draft and are playing around .500 this year

2 = bad team, under .500 the past years, keep losing FA's and does little to get them back during the draft, near the bottom in the league this year.

1 = Awful.  You are consistently in the bottom half, you can't sign a decent FA, have terrible drafts and are at 1 maybe 2 wins at best.

So without further adu, here are the rankings...I am going to group them by their rankings 5's first 4's second and etc...

5 Point Teams
1.)  New England Patriots-  Always good.  Perfect last year and had a nice draft.  They lost their secondary via FA, but have managed it well and are doing OK this year.

2.)  Indianapolis Colts-  They win 10 games every year, they always are in the playoffs and have never lost that much to FA.  They had a small but efficient draft, and I think it was enough to keep them in the elite group.

4 Point Teams
1.)  Green Bay Packers-  They miss the 5 point because they have had major injuries and have really only seen winning ways for 2 years now.  Never the less, they are an elite team and will win 10 games for the next 10 years.

2.)  New York Giants-  Much like the Packers, their winning ways havent been that consistent as of late, they had a miracle run last year, but lost a lot of guys and before that were never very succesfull.

3.)  San Diego Chargers-  Every year they make the playoffs, they added a good rookie CB this year to fill some holes, but their 3-4 record keeps them out of the 5 point teams.

4.)  Tennessee Titans-  Fairly consistent winner the past couple of years, but their amazing 6-0 start gets them into the 4 point group.

5.)  Dallas Cowboys-  Consistent winner, but never can do anything in the playoffs.  They added a great rookie RB and CB this year but have had major injuries keeping them out of 5 point teams.

6.)  Pittsburgh Steelers-  They win their divsion almost yearly, they won the super bowl a couple of years back and have only added players, they are the definition of consistent.

3 Point Teams
1.)  Washington Redksins-  Yeah, they made the playoffs but it wasnt enough.  They never really seem to add players that make or break the team, and have minimal drafts at best.

2.)  Carolina Panthers-  Ever since their greay playoffs year a couple years ago, injuries have mounted and they have traded away a couple of players.  They made nice gains in Beason and Stewart the past years but havent been consistent enough.

3.)  Tampa Bay Bucanneers-  They have a plethera of QB's and have used that to be succesfull.  But their drafts are what have impressed me, they challenge Green Bay for the best drafts the past 5 years.

4.)  New Orleans Saints-  Good NFC Championship run a couple years ago but havent been able to find that magic again.

5.)  Baltimore Ravens-  Other than last year they have been one of the dominant teams in the league.  But they need to improve their offense which prevents them from moving into the elite categories.

6.)  Chicago Bears-  They never found a QB, they have been about .500 the past couple of years and have just started to make improvements in their draft.

7.)  Philidephia Eagles-  They didnt move up to a 4 because they have consistency problems.  They always start hot then cool off right away, mixed with their average drafts, they dont move up at all.

8.)  Denver Broncos-  They always have a decent offense, but the last couple of years have struggled with defense.

9.)  Jacksonville Jaguars-  Until last year they have been a bad drafting and playing team, but Garrard and their defense evolved.

10.)  Buffalo Bills- Their good year last year plus a great draft and 09 campaign so far put them into the next level.  They could eventually move up to 4 at this pace.

2 Point Teams
1.)  New York Jets-  They made a lot of additions the past couple of years but to what avail...they make signings but they are the wrong ones, they need to fix themselves internally.

2.)  Cleveland Browns-  Good year last year, but an average draft and miserable start leave them behin the 3's.

3.)  Houston Texans-  The past couple of years they have had amazing drafts and have improved vastly, but still their record doesnt show it.

4.)  Minnesota Vikings-  They have had pretty bad drafts, Peterson is the only bright spot in their drafting ability, and they really havent improved at all from last year.

5.)  Arizona Cardinals-  Last year they were OK and this years draft and season have been good, but prior to that they absolutley sucked.

6.)  Seattle Seahawks-  Yeah they make it to the playoffs but they play in the weakest divsion in football history...this year the rest of the divsion caught up to them and we found out that they werent that good this whole time.

7.)  San Francisco 49er's-  They make big FA splashes that turn out to be busts-same with their draft.  But they manage to win a couple of games every year.

8.)  Atlanta Falcons-  Up until this year they have been a easy win the past 2 years.  But they made enough improvements that by mid season they could be a 3 or 4.

1 Point Teams
1.)  St. louis Rams-  Bad drafts mixed with bad signings mixed with loss of players mixed with bad performance adds up to a 1!

2.)  Detroit Lions-  See above!

3.)  Kansas City Chiefs-  They need to learn how to draft, their old players havent been replaced and they havent found a QB yet.

4.)  Oakland Raiders-  Their owner/GM/coach/player...yes player.  Is insane.  He needs to leave, and they might instantly get better.

5.)  Cincinnatti Bengals-  They have been awful the past two seasons and need to rip apart the team and rebuild.

6.)  Miami Dolphins-  Wow.
