Let me say now, for the record...even though I do root for James Madison, this game today is one they should have lost. Quite honestly, Villanova had every right to believe this game was theirs.
Once again, somebody forgot to tell Mickey Matthews, the JMU head coach, and Rodney Landers, his QB, about that.
Here's what happened: JMU had the ball trailing Villanova 19-17 with 4.2 seconds left. It's 4th down. No timeouts left. True, a FG could've won the game...but with the conditions like they were (rain, wind, what have you) and JMU going into the wind, time to roll the dice.
So, Rodney Landers throws up a Hail Mary. Deep down I knew this would end up futile...ball bounces around, but WAIT!!! I'm seeing a JMU receiver making a grab for it, and think to myself "Oh, (bleep)!!! He's gonna catch this???"
He does. Yet another miracle finish for JMU.
When you watch your local sports tonight, WHEREVER you live, and you see this ending, you'll understand why I'm still a little stunned over this. Sloppy game, really.
At any rate, Delaware comes to Harrisonburg next Saturday afternoon. Same Bat-channel (CN8) as today.

Good win. Sounds like a real crazy play. Might have to You Tube that.

I'm sure SOMEBODY must've shown it on the (local) sports. Believe me, J., it WAS crazy at the end.
The ball bounced off 3 Villanova defenders, right into the hands of a JMU receiver. Right at that point, I scream "Holy ****!!!".
Crazy, I tell you.
