I read about the website yesterday as I sat in the doctor's office looking at the newest ESPN The Magazine issue. I laughed when I read about it, but I checked it out today. What I saw made me think that a lot of Michigan football fans need to see physciatrists. What's the website I'm talking about? Why, http://www.firerrod.com/, of course.
The website has a big list of reasons why Michigan should fire Rodriguez after NOT EVEN A FULL SEASON. They include recruiting, "our fall from grace", halftime adjustments, the loss to Notre Dame, and the loss to Toledo. It also features a schedule with their current record (2-6). This all was disturbing in my eyes, but there was one thing that made me want to buy straightjackets and send them to anyone who has worked on this website.
What's the kicker? THEY HAVE A COUNTDOWN UNTIL LES MILES'S CONTRACT IS UP AT LSU. Come on, Michigan fans! He already had the chance to go to Michigan, and he declined. Why have this feature? He's not coming to Michigan unless, maybe, LSU FIRES HIM! Do you want to know why? It's because LSU IS BETTER THAN MICHIGAN!
Anyone who thinks that Michigan needs to fire Rich after 8 games is sycotic. Give the man a break! He's took a lot of heat from people at his alma mater just to go to Michigan, and now he's getting the same heat from his current team's fans. Here's the deal: It WILL take a year or two to get Rodriguez's system running smoothly. Anyone who won't accept this needs help. Get use to it Michigan fans: The Wolverines are in a REBUILDING MODE. rebuilding=losses for about 2 years. It should all come out in the wash, as I think they will be National Title contenders if they let Rich Rod do his thing.

I fault RR for 3 misdeeds:
1- Wasn't able to convince existing QBs to stay.
2- Put all his eggs in 1 basket - TP
3- Didn't recruit a back in case TP fell thru. There were lots of 3* QBs that would have worked well in his preferred offense still available that he could have received - can start wth Orhian Johnson - but he had to hold to the TP dream.
In the end, he is a QB away from the bowls.
...but that is by no means a reason to fire the guy after his 1st year. About the only people not expecting tSUN to finish 6th or lower in the B10 were the rabid homers. He was the best available for the job andwill eventually have success.
He will have tSUN back, but it will take a while... I am not sold on the current QBs winning the conference which means recruiting, development, perhaps a miss, and then a return to the top.
