The Cleveland Browns (on paper) have on of the most talented teams (ok, sans QB). They have the ability to come out and really give their fans and TV viewing audience a real show. HOWEVER, they also have the ability to give me a migrane the size of Texas. How they were up 14 in the third and loss by 10 I will NEVER understand.
Now, many feel that the season is in shambles and it is time to let Brady Quinn lead. While I am all for Brady coming out because I think he may do a better job than Derek. I need the fans to understand that Brady IS NOT LeBron. He is not going to save the Browns single handly. He will probably kill Derek in the stats but if he doesn't have players who show up and do their job, he will be getting jacked...just like Derek and Charlie before him. So, yes, put Brady in. He can't do any worse than Derek. But let's not get our hopes up here. We are not going to run the table on the season just because Brady is running things. (Question: it took one game for Charlie to lose his job AND get traded. Yet Derek has been the starter this entire season and the front office hasn't so much as THOUGHT of giving Brady a shot. Just an observation.)
The rest of the offense needs...something. Many fans complain about Kellen Winslow and think he's a drama king. I am inclined that sometimes Kellen talks WAAAAY too much to the media and may need to seek therapy for some of his issues. However, Kellen leaves it on the field. He comes to play and will play through injury. While his brain may have taken a few shots, his heart has always been winning and helping his team. Yes, he has made some seriously horrible decisions in his short career, but when #80 lines up on that field on Sunday, he puts in work. Many fans believe that we are better without Kellen. Um...I'm not convinced. Yes, we are 2-0 this season without him (and one of those was the Giants) but I am more under the impression that its a mental game. For some reason it seems the Browns either need a huge opponent or swirling drama in order to be focused.
Speaking of offense, my favorite player looks like a dud. I have no idea what has happened to the baller formerly known as Braylon Edwards. Maybe he needs to seek therapy as well so he can get his head in the game. Here is what I need him to understand. He is no longer a sleeper. When he blew up on the NFL last year, teams have adjusted to him and make concession for him. This means they respect his talent and he needs to make adjustments on the field. For example in the second quarter, when he fought the DB for the ball in the end zone. Brilliant play! Whooo! 2 quarters later, he drops a sure touchdown. Uh... And these dropped balls! Wow, I see 3rd string high schoolers catch more balls that he has all season. I would really like to see Braylon be known for more than doing backflips (which thank GOD he didn't injure/maime/kill himself...IDIOT!) and imaginary rock riffs. He is way talented, he is a star, but he is acting like this is new to him. I am disappointed in him to say the least.
My new favorite Cleveland Browns are Joshua Cribbs and Shaun Rogers. Josh is a beast on special teams! Now only does he run em back for 92 yard touchdowns, but he tackles for losses too. I think since the coaching staff doesn't feel incline to use him that much on the offense, they should move him to DB or CB...he plays like it anyway. Shaun Rogers is playing like a new man out there as well. His last two games were awesome!
My Patriots loss...to the Colts...not happy, no comment.
My Hurricanes beat UVa in OT! WHOOOOOOOOO!
I am rooting for Tennessee to stay undefeated for the regular season.
