Last night on ESPN Monday Night Countdown, Dilfer was asked what his thoughts were on the benching of Anderson for Quinn.
His response was "this is an organization that I played for for a year and I saw very closely that the organization itself is highly dysfuctional and cannot make decisions that are good for the long-term growth of the organization."
I can somewhat agree on the lack of decision making (specifically Romeo's lack of it).
Dilfer also said "public opinion has made this decision for the Browns."
The fans didn't make the decision to bench Anderson (neither did Romeo), this must have come down from Savage (it's about time) and Anderson's overall poor QB play.
In my opinion Dilfer has still not gotten over his 2005 benching in favor of Charlie Frye. First of all Dilfer you were never a good QB. You won a Super Bowl because the Ravens had one of the greatest defenses of all time that season. Second, what did you do statistically in your career the years before and after the Super Bowl season? Oh yeah, you did nothing.
Next, I personally met you when I worked at the f.y.e. in downtown Cleveland when the 49ers were in town last December. Dilfer supposedly had a concussion and could not play because of it, but when we talked, you seemed perfectly normal to me. You were probably just being a wuss and did not want to play.
Finally, why in the hell did ESPN give you a job? You cannot keep your emotions in check when talking about a former football team that you played for. Very unprofessional of you Dilfer. You got benched for Frye and that was the right decision for the team at that time. Get over it already.
