DC Sports Nut: Nats, AGAIN??
|

You can put away the bedsheets for your faces, people. Stash away the swastikas for another year, as well.

Common sense won out yesterday. But there's a bigger problem we as Americans face as a result of this election.

And it's as plain as the maps the networks used to follow the race. Take a good look the next time, and pay strict attention to the outline of the U.S. of A. as to "red" and "blue" states.

There's a word for it: "Balkanization". Think I'm kidding?? Look closely, gang. New Mexico and Colorado, surrounded by red. Or better still, see West Virginia and Kentucky surrounded by blue.

Think this is still "one" nation??? Who are you trying to b.s., FanNation...or yourselves??

If we've learned anything from this Presidential race, it's that we're still using race as the central issue in society. The vast majority of white people went for McCain; the vast majority of blacks for Obama. Hispanics and other minorities?? It's hard to tell, actually.

Oh, and before someone brings up the so-called "Bradley effect", let me put this to rest. If it really were the case, we in Virginia would not have put Doug Wilder into the governor's mansion 7 years after Tom Bradley's screw-up...nor would Massachusetts have bothered to put Deval Patrick in THEIR governor's mansion a few years ago.

But, try telling the S.O.E. "group" that.

Me, I just want FN cleansed of this evil brought about by the S.O.E. The mods don't have the balls to do it, unfortunately. All that "political correctness" bull(bleep) and what have you. They wouldn't know hate speech if it gave them a b.j., IMO.

But hey, the election's over. I just wish the hatred on FanNation were, though.
