The general managers of all 30 MLB teams are meeting (or may have already met and left) as I write this. Soon, free agency will descend upon us. And, oh dear God, do the Nationals need to do something in the market...to show the fans (like yours truly) they're serious about this team being a contender.
And where to start, would be the deal at first base.
Now that Dmitri Young's off to Syracuse, and assuming Nick Johnson's days in Washington are over, what do we do?? If you can cut the right deal, maybe either Kevin Millar or Mark Texiera (if I misspelled that, correct me) could be the key. But that's a big "if"--even I'll admit that.
Of course, now that Chad Cordero is gone, we also need a good closer in the bullpen. Hell, for that matter, we need a bullpen, period!!! I understand the closer for the Rockies got sent packing...and I'm sorry I forgot his name...but this is a possibility to look at.
More importantly, the Nats need a bat (or 50...LMAO) in the lineup. I guess we'll all find out together, when free agency starts up soon.

No free agent worth a crap will even CONSIDER the Nationals. If you think there is the slightest chance of Tex going to Washington you need your meds adjusted.
