I will continue my tirade against the unethical few who try so very hard to soil the hallowed ground every Sunday with their off field antics.

If the commissioner and the fans want to see this league maintain any semblance of honor and prestige, it needs to act now! Convicted Felons playing a game and making millions doing it!! That is just not right.

I believe that when charges are filed, an immediate paid suspension should be enforced. Allow the legal process to move forward and if the player is convicted, then he should be fired and banned from the league permanently.

We pay these men hundreds of thousands and sometimes millions of dollars a year to play football. They are role models to a lot of young children and practically idols to some fans. I think having a code of conduct that is "Real" and enforced should not be too hard to pass if we really want to preserve the heritage and honor of the NFL.

We have several players who are facing charges from low misdemeanors to mid level felonies and they are still on the field. We suspend them for a few games, or fine them. This is clearly not working with the rising number of arrests we are seeing.

If these men truly cared about their career and the REAL threat of being fired were in their face, I bet we would not see many at the strip clubs, or on the police blotter. One Felony and you are gone should be enough to make any man step more cautiously even if he is not going to take his "Role Model" status more seriously.

We hold Government workers to this standard. Why not the NFL? If the players refuse to govern their own behavior, then let's control it League wide. They could only embarrass the league once and then they are gone. No more Multiple Arrest idiots to stain the great NFL flag.

I am hopeful that we do something soon. Think of all the legends in Canton, most passed away looking down at the antics of some of these morons. Think of the players today who go out of their way to be good role models and team players and what they must think when they see someone getting away with the crap they get away with weekly. Even a $500k fine is nothing in this day in which some players make $4-8 million a year. The average sports fan makes less than $60k and to them it may seem like a huge fine, but to a man making $2 million a year, he may not be able to buy two more Bentleys... Dreadful...

If Michael Vick is permitted back into the NFL, that will be the saddest day in NFL history and the bell that tolls for the loss of honor and sacrifice so many have made to make this league great. What a disgrace and slap in the face it would be to Coach Lombardi, Walter Payton, Roger Staubach, Bart Starr, Tom Landry, and all the other legends and good players who honored their role instead of soiled it with bad conduct!!

Get real with the penalties and get rid of the troublemakers. Preserve the heritage so that when the greats look down, they can do so proudly. Bring back the true role model mentality and honor that used to accompany the NFL Shield. The fans are waiting for some real action on this instead of the window dressing that is being put out now...
