I, too, did not vote for Obama... but I completely agree with your sentiments. Both my wife and I support third-party candidacy on principle, but to see the gracious concession by a dedicated government official in McCain and Obama's deferential acceptance put chills up both our spines. Love him or hate him, the country has a new president around which to go forward into the coming decade...

I have a question concerning the use of African American when refering to President Elect Obama. I am not attenpting to be funny here just want a realistic answer and haven't been able to find it. If Obama's dad was an African from the country of Kenya and his mother was a causcasian from the United States, how exactly is he an African American. This is a serious question. In my state 1/32 makes an American Indian eligible for a royalty check from our local casino's although they are 31/32 of another race. Is there some percentage besides the fact that he is 50/50 that makes him an African American? Serious answers only, please.

While I'm waiting for an anwer I'm going to Google ethnicity. If I find the answer I'll post. By the way, this has no bearing on his potential in my opinion. He is our future CINC and I will support him. Just curiuos about the labels people like to use.
