This Sunday night we will see the Philadelphia Eagles take on the N. Y. Giants in their first meeting of this 2008 season. The Eagles already have 3 losses, and the Giants have only lost 1 game. Three weeks ago, the season looked bleak for the Eagles, but they can get back into the NFC East division race with an upset win over Eli Manning and crew. Can they do it?

I say Yes they can, IF THEY PLAY UP TO THEIR CAPABILITIES!

It starts with the Quarterback. Donovan McNabb played terribly in the early part of last week's game against the Seahawks. Passes were thrown into the ground or way over the head of his receiver. Then, as if his "ON" switch was suddenly pushed, he played brilliantly for the last 3 quarters of the game. THAT'S the way he'll have to play against the Giants. No more of this "slow start" stuff, we need his "A" game for all 4 quarters.

Andy Reid needs to be more creative in his play selection. And please don't wear out Westbrook! Let Buckhalter share some of the load, Andy!

Other than the first play of last week's game (when Lito Sheppard cost the Eagles a 90-yard touchdown), the Eagle Defense played pretty well last week. Assante Samuels played an especially good game, and the Eagles' young linebackers did a nice job. The Defense has to play well again, and step up the blitz to harass Eli Manning. Run Blitzes should be utilized too, as the Giants have shown strength this season in their running game.

Yes, it's a tall order for Philliy to beat the Giants, but it can be done. If the Eagles succeed, the second meeting of these two contenders will be even more meaningful in determining who wins the NFC East. Tune in Sunday night - forget about watching "Desperate Housewives" and "Brothers And Sisters" !
