I was surprised tonight to turn on the TV and see a bonfire burning.  It looked something like a witch burning at the stake.  The fire was being held in Baton Rouge the likeness of Nick Saban at the stake.  I have heard the talk of LSU fans planing to spit and throw bottles at Coach Saban as he enters the stadium.

LSU my SEC brothers... What is your point?  Have a little class.  This man brought you from a 3 win season to an SEC title then a National title.  Just a few short years ago the rest of the SEC knew you as LSWho.  You are a top team now and owe much of that to Coach Saban.  He did not leave you for the Crimson Tide.  He went to the NFL thinking that was the next step after bringing you to the top.  Once there he saw that college was where his heart was.  Much of that is because of the good time he had while coaching at LSU.  I don't understand this, "He left us for Bama", crap.

You guys have The Mad Hatter now.  He took you back to the top for another BCS title even if it was with Coach Sabans players.  Be happy with what you have and get over this childlike obsession you have with Coach Saban.  He is at one of the most storied schools in the history of college football now.  He is one of the best coaches in the nation.  With that combo Bama and Saban will be very successful.  Enjoy fighting the Barn and Arky for second place in the SEC West for the next decade.  Second place is always first place loser.  You guys will still make a BCS game now and then.  Roll Tide Roll!!!

There are a few very good points in there though. Nick Saban is a fantastic football coach. If I were a LSU fan, I would be honored to know that he coached my team. I agree that Saban really helped make LSU what it is. I don't understand why LSU fan's would be angry and throw objects at Saban. I personally would applaud him for making LSU what it is.

I'm sitting here catching up with fannation stuff and College Game Day, and I just saw the footage from that "bon fire". That is disgusting.
I'm a USC fan, and have little interest in this SEC rivalry. I did believe and still do believe Saban made a poor, classless decision in how he handled all of his moves. I would love to see LSU knock off 'Bama today (USC fan's selfish interest).

BUT, to do what they did last night in Baton Rouge last night was absolutely out of line, and now makes Saban look like the good guy. What is wrong with these people? Is it 2008 in Baton Rouge or 1948?
Disgusting.

Its not hatred, just a little jealous.

I'm one of the few people here at LSU who do not hate Saban with a passion, now i agree that he could've handled his moves better but at the same time coaching is a business and im pretty sure if i was in position to make that kind of money i would've done the same thing, probably without blatantly lying about it in an interview a week before though. Now as far as us battling for second place for a decade? no chance. Without a young freshman at quarterback who's almost single-handedly lost two games for us, we'd be sittin on top of the SEC west and would've pummeled the tide last weekend. but anyway, good luck to yall in the SEC championship and it'd be nice to see either yall or Florida in the title game.

Spurrier leaving FL to go to NFL and eventualy to South Carolina is not the same as Saban's story but similar enough to ask why FL does not go crazy this weekend for the game?
