With Penn State's loss and Texas Tech's upcoming challenge in Norman, an unlikely scenario is becoming more probable. Consider the following scenario:
1. Winner of the Big 12 South (Texas Tech, Texas, or Oklahoma) loses to Missouri.
2. Alabama and Florida win out and face each other in the SEC Championship as #1 vs #3 (or even worse #1 vs. #2 if Tech loses to OK). Florida defeats Alabama.
3. Oregon State wins out to take the Pac-10 title.
Commons sense says Florida gets a birth to the BCS Championship Game, but who do they play? Possible contenders:
1. Texas Tech, Texas or Oklahoma - at best a 12-1(Texas Tech) or worse 11-2(Texas/Oklahoma) team just beaten by Missouri and at least two wouldn't have even played in their own Championship game (see Georgia 2007)
2. Missouri - would have to jump possibly 8 points in the polls to end #2, not likely
3. USC - Would have to jump from #5 to #2. Throw in a loss to UCLA, Stanford or ND and there is zero chance.
4. Utah/Boise State - like the others, they would need a big jump over better teams to get to #2
5. Alabama - A one loss team whose only loss came to the #2 or #3 team.
Final BCS Rankings
1. Florida
2. Alabama
3. Texas
4. Oklahoma
5. Texas Tech
6. USC
7. Utah
8. Missouri
9. Boise State
10. Georgia

Oregon St wins out...
That leaves Oklahoma and USC for the BCS title game... Two teams that did not win their conference and OU without winning their division...

OU BEATS Texas Tech in a close game
Mizzou beats OU in BIG-12 title game
Mizzou gets automatic Fiesta borl, and 1 loss Texas and 1 loss Texas Tech are #1 and #2 and play in the BCS title game. This violates the max of 2 teams from one conference making it into the BCS games, and I don't think the rules give any exception to automatic bids. I think they'd have to toss the max 2 rule in this one case. OU and Texas could swap roles as the big 12 title game loser, depending on who gets voted into the game by polls and computers.

I am getting a strong feeling that one or more of the above scenarios are going to happen this weekend. I do believe Texas Tech won't be able to make it past Oklahoma. But call me crazy, I have a weird feeling that Notre Dame is going to scrape out a win over USC somehow. Add in a possible upset of Utah by BYU, and a Nevada squad trying to prove a point at home, and all of a sudden the picture goes from murky to downright insane.

If you look at the BCS selection rules, there is one exception that would allow three teams from the same league into BCS games: If two non-champion teams from the same conference are ranked No. 1 and No. 2. So if MO knocked off OU and Texas and Tech were both sitting at one loss and somehow managed to get to 1 and 2, they would play in the national title game, and MO would also get a spot in a BCS game.
