Well, I hope SOMEBODY out there took my advice today, because you'd have done all right. In the winning column, we had Purdue, 'Bama, the Gophers (they may not have gotten their paws on Paul Bunyan's Axe, but kept things close enough for my liking), a high scoring affair out in Lexington, and a good ol' fashioned Longhorn beatdown- on the road. Come to think of it, if you'd gotten the same vibes off the RATHER generous Penn State spot (35 and a fat half), you'd have yourself another win there; I can't take credit for that one, though, as I did not officially endorse it.
Amazingly, looking over the box scores I see that my only hiccup on the day came at the hands of the mischievous Stanford Cardinal, who found that even though they didn't stand a chance of recapturing a little David and Goliath lightnin' in a bottle, they could still rain on the pointspread parade with a last minute (and I mean 1:23 left in the 4th) back-door td, thus slamming the door on your faithful scribe's shutout.
So listen up, one more piece of free advice: I'll be back in the A.M. with some NFL strategies, but you may just want to take them with a grain of salt- I mean, who knows how mush my picks will be coming off a 5 and 1 college Saturday?
