Julius Peppers - Carolina Panthers

Thank goodness for defense right. Peppers had nine sacks in a much better year so far in 2008. He also has five FF this year and 28 solo takes with 6 assists. The panthers running game really got our offense going yesterday too with a franchise record on the ground and two backs with 100 plus yards. Some how though, we still struggled against two sub-par teams the past two weeks. Look for us to be really tested next week in Atlanta with a more experienced Ryan at the helm. I think we play better in tight spots so look for us to pull out a nother win. Jake, shake those cobb webbs baby.

On to the bigger issue. This is our best start since our 2003 run to the big one! Now sitting at 8-2 we look to assert some dominance in a very winning division. Atlanta did fall to 6-4 with a lose to Denver yesterday but they didn't look horrid. The great part about Tampa holding the win over us right now is that our coming up game against them is at home where we are undefeated this year. 6-0 at home baby, maybe the fans are finally getting behind their boys again. Green Bay should be a fun game and the Giants at home will be tough. Look for a preview of a possible conference match-up. I see us entering the late stretch at 11-3 and finishing at 12-4.

Your team was a topic of conversation yesterday in the stands at Giants Stadium. Some of us Giants fans were saying that the Panthers "are our only NFC roadblock to the Super Bowl", while others were saying that your team "is not as talented or deep as your record would indicate". For me, the jury is still out, but I actually WOULD like to meet you in the NFC Championship game, here in Jersey, where we would be hungry for some revenge on that embarrassing playoff loss to you a couple years back.

Yeah that lose was round one 2005 playoffs. Tiki Barber was held down and the Panthers Steve Smith was on fire. But they embarassed Chicago even worse than they did you guys that year! I believe there is a good chance that if we get our offense flowing it could be an awesome defensive game up there in New York as I see you guys finishing 13-3 with the home field advantage because obviously I predict us at 12-4.
