After an extremely quiet week 12, week 13 is looking to return to form and give the computers and pollsters a case of indigestion. In a week of several upset possibilities, let's work the numbers.
Texas Tech (2) @ Oklahoma (5) - this appears to be a no-brainer upset call. TT has run a gauntlet the past few games and that was at home. Oklahoma knows this is a must win if they want a shot at the big game in January and the hometown fans will remind them of it every step of the way.
BYU (14) @ Utah (7) - Both of these teams have had similar schedules. But, while Utah has pulled through unscathed, BYU lost focus and was dealt their only lost. Utah, however, struggled against TCU and New Mexico (4-8). It's a coin toss, but I am betting on the upset.
Boise State (9) @ Nevada - Don't think this counts? Nevada may actually have a chance. Take out the two losses to Texas Tech and Missouri, and Nevada is only 10 points away from being 8-2. Give Boise those same two opponents, and you will likely find similar results. Add in home field advantage, and this and the Utah game could take out both BCS-busters in one day.
State of Michigan vs Big 10 - If both teams from The Great Lakes State win this weekend, not only does it throw a wrench in the BCS bowl process, but it makes unlikely Michigan State the Big 10 front runner going into the final week. May be the one time the Spartans ever root for the Wolverines. Of course, with the way they have been playing, Michigan will need all the help they can get.
Then again, maybe it will be another quiet week, but I highly doubt it.
