Last night I had the chance to really watch Georgia Tech for the first time this year, as they played on ESPN against Miami. I predicted Miami would win by 10, but, boy, was I wrong. Tech's option offense ran all over the U, leading to a 41-23 win by the Jackets. I really enjoyed watching Georgia Tech run all over Miami, hoping that they would continue to lay out the Canes, and they did. Last night made me realize something that I am now proud to admit: I really like Georgia Tech.
Now, listen, Georgia is STILL my team and will forever be. Tech has moved up to #3 (behind Tennessee, who I root for due to my grandad). Before, I REALLY hated Tech. Before this season I wanted Tech to go 0-11, come into the Georgia game, dominate it, and then blow it late (back before Reggie Ball was usually the cause). Now I want Tech to go 11-1, with the one loss being to Georgia, of course.
So what's the cause in the change of heart? The only thing I can think of is Paul Johnson. I always thought he was a great coach at Navy, and I was really amazed that Tech was able to get him. I thought (and still think) that Chan Gailey is an idiot for the most part, and really shouldn't have been in Atlanta as long as he was (I mean, come on, he never beat Georgia!). I've since fallen in love with the option offense, as for the most part it has been unstoppable. Keep in mind, this is only Johnson's first year as head man. Things can only go up for the Yellow Jackets.
I rented NCAA Football '09, so yesterday I played the Tech vs Miami game. I was Tech, and the option ran all over Miami, but I kept fumbling and throwing INT to keep them in the game. I got a safety late to ensure the win, and the final score was 12-7. To warn anyone who's a gamer like me: The option is a pain in the butt to run on a game, as I never really made a huge play, just several 7 or 8 yard gains.
I'm going to stay hush-hush about my new liking of Tech, as there will be backlashes at school. Robert, one of my best friends and the #2 biggest UGA fan my age (behind me) won't talk to me for a week or two, while Alexa (one of his best friends and the daughter of two GT graduates) would not leave me alone. Although I like Georgia Tech now, you would be crazy to think that I will be wearing GT gear when the Jackets come to Athens.

Hey, I'm conflicted about whether to root for tech or not. Then I see all of my Techie friends on Facebook making negative comments about UGA, and then I'm reminded why it is good ol' fashionned hate. I hope those Techies leave from Athens soon and in droves. To heck with Tech!!!!
How 'bout 'em wants…

All I knw is that with UNC losing today all my Canes have to do is beat a Hot NC.ST. team next week an we'll take the Division finally. GT lost to VT an Virginia bth team the Canes beat, we beat NC ST next week we win the Tie-Breakers an move on to the title gme an then hopefully back to the Orange against most likely Cinci or West Virginia. No Matter what this season has been amazing for Miami wth all the Freshman starting an still winning 7 games, & being in the hunt for the Division Croown until the last game. My Teams Bck, GEORGIA BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF TECH. They will nevr Challenge for and NCAA Title Game like the Dawgs will if Moreno an Stafford come back nxt year.
