Hey everybody, and after a long wait, welcome back to the NBA Chat Club. Yes, I'm back, and I'm rockin! This would be my first official NBA Chat Club since the season started, so it's gonna be pretty long. First off, I'm giving a shout out to the usuals, that is Hllywd, J Hova, G.O.A.T, 0x NBA/NFL Champion, and Joe Dew and Yoda. So now that that's out of the way, let's talk business. This year has been a rocky one, to say the least. The Mavericks and the Clippers are definitely underachieving. I will admit, I was wrong about the Clippers. I had thought they were playoff bound with Camby, Gordon, Kaman, and B-Diddy, but now I've realized injuries are the end of this team. There's no reason for the Mavericks to suffer. They have two 20+ point scorers in Nowitzki and Howard, and Terry is averaging 18 points. Kidd is having a decent season, with 11 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 8.1 assists. They are just...going through a bad spell. If Nowitzki can raise his scoring a bit, they should be fine. As a Heat fan, I obviously have to talk about the Heat. The Heat are currently 6-6, and have defeated the Spurs, Wizards, 76'ers, the Nets, and the Kings. Out of these, the only real good teams are the Spurs, 76'ers, and the Nets(read more about this later...). Dwyane Wade has officially returned to Championship form, and is averaging a career high 28.1 points, 7.8 assists, 1.6 blocks, and 2.5 steals. He's dominating in every way possible. I think the Heat are playoff bound, and once Beasley begins getting better at defense, you'll see why I think so. Speaking of Beasley, lets discuss the NBA Rookies this year. The best rookie so far is Derrick Rose this year. He's averaging 18.5 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists. A close second is OJ Mayo, who's averaging 20.2 points and 1.7 steals, but other than 4.5 rebounds, isn't doing much else. Michael Beasley's been an interesting case. His minutes have recently dropped, which can be attributed to his lack of defense. However, this was expected, and there is no reason to think he won't get better. With a 40 inch vertical, he is going to be a good shot blocker as time goes on, and probably a good stealer too. Greg Oden's made a nice comeback, picking up 4 double doubles, including a 21 point, 11 rebound game which is really impressive. For those who think he's injury prone, I think he's going to put up 15 points, and 10 rebounds this year. Don't be surprised if he develops into the next Shaquille O'Neal. I've watched this guy play, he plays in the low block like the young Shaq.

I'm here man.

I like Oden he just got to stay healthy.

Trying to follow the Lakers and talk Knick fans off of ledges.

Got to love NY.

Good to see ya back on FanNation, ahung.

Despite their mediocre start, I think the Heat are going to make some real noise this year - particular in the 2nd half after they've had some time to gel. Like you say D-Wade is back in form. He showed his A-game in the Olympics and he hasn't let up.

As for the rookies, it's a wide open race at this point - but all 3 are providing excitement in those markets and will be interesting to watch over the next 2-3 years.

I'm not surprise about the lackluster Clippers myself. Sure they added new blood but they also gave up just as much. They are nowhere near the level of the West's elite at this point and I don't see a solution on the horizon until the 2010 free-agent class reshuffles the entire league again.
