Nursing an "alleged" injury...

I don't know. It can't really be me, can it?? Wanting to hold out a slim hope that the Wizards can right this "S.S. Minnow"-esque disaster of a season and have Gil return??

I just now finished reading a blog about how loyalty in sports--whether we're talking about athletes or fans--seems to be a dying breed. I won't argue the point, because why should I?? The writer's absolutely right. Seeing as how ManRam slouched his way out of Boston, or Ocho Cinco nodding off at a team meeting and then wondering why he was deactivated for the game Thursday night...perhaps this writer nailed it on the head.

And then, there's "Agent Zero"...

Gil, can I please ask you to just shut the effing hell up from now on?? Stating openly that it wouldn't be the end of the world if the Wiz finish dead last, does NOT instill confidence in the fans. You know what WOULD instill confidence, Gil?? Your a*s*s out on a basketball court!!!

Let's review some things, shall we??

YOU were the one who asked to take less money from Abe Pollin in order for Ernie Grunfeld to re-sign Antawn Jamison...to make YOU willing to stay in Washington. YOU were the one who said December would be the earliest you wanted to come back. YOU settled for $111 million to stay, when other teams were throwing out $125 million at you to leave the Wiz.

And this is how you repay Abe Pollin, Ernie Grunfeld, Eddie Jordan, your teammates, the fans...hell, did I neglect to mention the city of Washington?? (Not to mention the fricking NBA??) By this load of manure you foisted on people at Madame Tussaud's yesterday, when they unveiled a wax likeness of you??

Who's the REAL dummy now, Gilbert??? If you didn't want to play here for the Wiz, why are you taking Abe Pollin's money by sitting on your a*s*s??? Care to answer THAT little nugget???
