So I've come to the decision of what we should first read. Everyone is clamoring for that first book, and I have something a little off the beaten path that I unearthed again recently from long-buried boxes of books. It satisfies several requirements for me as we launch into this new concept group...
- The book should have literary merit. I wanted something not merely by a sports figure, but by an established author... and
- I wanted something at least somewhat representing sports.
So in that spirit, you have two weeks to find, acquire and read the following book:
Winterdance: The Fine Madness of Running the Iditarod by Gary Paulsen
