Sifting through the detritus on Helium in a haze of writer's block, a topic struck me in its simplicity: "Is hunting animals a legitimate sport?"
Don't take me the wrong way... I'm not a PETA member who wears my vegan clothing and munches nothing but soybean derivatives. I am a chef who loves his good cut of meat. And while I've never yet had the opportunity to hunt, I would gladly head out into the wilderness to get food for my family for the next year were the chance to arise...
However, that said, hunting is GROCERY SHOPPING, not SPORT... read my thoughts on the issue here... and then feel free to come back to this page and leave your two cents on the matter...

Great job, Bigalke. I agree with you on the aspect that hunting is not a sport, but only a way for survival and for food.

I agree and am appalled. Traditional hunting, like in the woods with camouflage etc., I agree is not a sport. But I am flabbergasted that you forgot to mention hunting via arcade, which is a sport. Video hunting is intense and with out a doubt the next extreme sport!

Terrorists that they are...
Anyway, back to the point. At least Ted Nugent COOKS what he kills. None of that "catch and release" crap, and what have you.

Fair enough... it's the pure sport hunting which has me... Mr. Cat Scratch Fever is probably just after me because he'll automatically take this as an affront to ALL hunting... the glorification of hunting beyond anything more than providing is in no way SPORT...
