Ok, I will be the first to say it, but Romeo MUST be fired immediately.

First of all, benching Brady Quinn is the decision that will make this reality happen. Quinn goes out and throws 2 INTs in his 3rd start. He has only started 3 games, and every new starter will go through a period of adjustments and mistakes. But remember how bad Derek Anderson was before he got benched? He had worse games where he threw more INTs and had a worse passer rating. Did he get benched? No. Obviously, Romeo has a dislike for Quinn, and that dislike has just gotten him fired. I don't know if it will happen now or after the season, but it is inevitable.

Here are a few other reasons to fire Romeo right now:
-No discipline for Braylon "18 drops" Edwards (ie. a benching that ANY other coach would
have done long ago)
-No discipline for Kellen Winslow for making boneheaded penalties at key points in games
-Not sticking with the running game (19-1 when Lewis gets 20+ carries)
-Not getting the ball more to Cribbs and Harrison on offense
-Benching Quinn (had to repeat this because I still can't believe it)
-Horrible defensive play from a head coach who is supposedly a defensive expert

I also believe that Phil Savage's time has come too. Especially after the staph infection drama with Winslow, and now the explicit email scandal.

Can someone tell Bill Cowher that his studio suit is going to be replaced with Browns attire.

Romeo Crennel and Charlie Weis are both frauds.

Haven't we seen enough of Anderson. Game plans stink on both sides of the ball. Other teams have learned to block Cribbs causing kick coverage to bottom out. Romeo has lost the team and they do not believe in his game plans. Fire Romeo, hire Cowher.

Yeah - I am with you - let Quinn keep playing. This will bear out the truth, and that is that the team doesn't have a quarteback problem, but a coaching and strategy problem. The constant bickering about Quinn is distracting this team from focusing on its real problems.

We are not going to win with the same 4 plays and field-goals.

One more thing - where is Sorensen? He has been awesome so far this year and is suddenly absent? Anyone know why?

November 26, 2008  09:51 PM ET

First of all Quinn shouldn't have been given the start against Denver to begin with. Doing so was basically giving up on the season and waving the white flag. The teams poor play was not just because of Anderson. Yes the play calling has been terrible, his decision making has been questionable, and the play around him has been disappointing. He had 3 other Pro Bowler's on offense, none of which will be earning a trip this year. That says more about them than Anderson.

Anderson's play was actually improving when he was benched. The defense lost the Ravens game, sure he had a pick that sealed the deal, but Thomas whiffed on a block, Wright gave up on the route, and with Anderson under heavy pressure, the result was a pick 6. If anything you should have run the screen on 1st or 2nd down. Ravens were all over it on 3rd and long.

You lead the league in drops as a team, that number is far greater than announcers speak on, and it was no different when Quinn started. Passer rating is over rated. Quinn completed a bunch of 5 yard passes against Denver and couldn't get a yard to keep the chains moving when he needed it most. He had to win against Denver at all costs, it was must win and in making that move anything less was unacceptable. He didn't get it done. He looked terrible against Buffalo, had a full week of practice, so no excuse there, and clearly you didn't think they were gonna let him sit back there and dump off 5 yard passes all game. His QB rating should have included 2 interceptions which would have given you an even clearer picture of who and what he was. I would have gone back to Anderson to start against Buffalo.

He got the win because Buffalo lost. He didn't lose, so I had no problem starting him against Houston, which was another must win game. In fact that 3 game stretch is by far the Browns easiest of the season. He looked even worse against Houston. There was nothing in his first 5 possessions that gave you any indication that he was going to win that game let alone sniff the end zone. If anything you made the move to Anderson far too late, and he still put you in the best position to have a chance to win or at least tie the game and he had everything working against him.

This was the 3 game stretch to get you back in the mix, and it turned out to be nothing more than a wasted opportunity. Quinn realistically should be 0-3 in 3 starts, and his play going downhill not improving. If anything Crennel made the mistake of giving in to popular opinion instead of sticking by Anderson and trying to get a rise in the play around him. Quinn has done nothing to support making the move let alone sticking with it, especially with the playoffs still a possibility, as faint as that is now with 2 crushing defeats.

You can't put Edwards drops on Crennel or Anderson for that matter. Benching him would only hurt the team more. You've already limited yourself by not throwing to other people, so you compound it by benching him? If anything, you use him as a decoy, you run people off him or underneath, get something out of him. He can't drop passes that aren't thrown to him, he could however trip and fall and mess that up to though.

Winslow is a threat when on the field, penalties happen, yes they seem to come at the wrong time. He pushes off because he can't get separation. If he can't practice, then don't play him, you have been productive at the position without him, I will put that on the coach.

You don't have to run Lewis 20 times, get him 18-22 effective touches. He can catch the ball too and doesn't have it thrown to him enough. Stop running him up the back of the line in obvious run situations, put him positions to have success. You have to be diverse in your play calling, Browns far too predictable.

Cribbs wasn't even a part of the offense the first half of the season which could have only helped Anderson. Harrison should get 6-10 touches a game, not at the expense of Lewis though. Harrison is good for a big play or 2 a game if Lewis has been effective. If Lewis is getting anything on the ground, Harrison isn't going to give you anything.

Quinn looked terrible, had to repeat that twice as well and only emphasized that it was a move that should not have been made in the first place. If anything, his play only shows that you don't make the mistake of turning the team over to him next season if you have any real aspirations of making the playoffs.

Its Tucker's first season as DC, transition takes time, once again Crennel should be more hands on, and that's on both sides of the ball. It all reflects upon him. I'm so -so on Savage, he has an eye for talent, but with that being said the team lacks depth and that's on the GM. I think if anything its a wake up call for the organization. You build upon successes not rest upon them.

Tomlin is a prime example that Pittsburgh isn't missing Cowher and that you don't have to have previous coaching experience to be successful. He has the support of the organization and putting his stamp on the team. Cowher isn't the answer, but accountability will lead to finding the solution.

Weis is a fraud with a terrible attitude. He can run an offense but not manage a program. His offense hasn't been all that great as of late either, but he is getting paid.

Quinn has looked terrible and is easy to defend. I hate that he suffered an injury, but it basically rights the wrong of making the change in the first place, and at what cost? The play calling and game planning has been terrible, but you correct it by determining why? If anything you see that the drops are no more Quinn's fault than Anderson's. You've created a situation that could have been prevented.

You trust Anderson to overcome the bad play around him. P Manning started off 0-2 and looked terrible. The play around him improved and they got it turned around. I'm not saying Anderson is Manning, but he is our Manning. He has been the best we've had since the Browns have been back and even at the end of last season after winning 10 games, going to the Pro Bowl, the talk and question has always been, when Quinn?

If anything, you see exactly what you have in Anderson, you see how he handles adversity and works to overcome it. You don't have him in the position of looking over his shoulder, Manning knows he can make mistakes, so does Romo and most other starting QB's. This is the only place that its not the case, and Quinn hasn't proven or done anything. If Anderson gets hurt or the Browns get eliminated from the Playoffs, even if its only 2-4 games remaining, then you can justify making the move to see what Quinn can do without having to explain or justify it, because its already been done.

You don't split the locker room, you don't slight Anderson, and you don't put unrealistic expectations on Quinn. There was nothing in Quinn that indicated he would come in and run off 7 wins. He couldn't get 3 in the best possible situation. I'm not bashing Quinn, he may grow to become an effective QB, but making the change with expectations as high as they were seemed unfair to the team and him. Expectations were high because of Anderson's play at QB not Quinn's possible ability at back up.

No way you turn the team over to Quinn with him being done for the year and looking terrible against Buffalo and Houston, imagine him against Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Dallas, etc. What if Anderson finishes strong? If anything you add better pieces around Anderson. Clearly the team has deficiencies. If anything, you have an open competition, to give Quinn an opportunity. If he comes out as the back-up he has to accept that role. You don't make the mistake of playing Anderson looking over his shoulder. Anything less to that should not be accepted.

Sorensen is terrible in coverage. he will make the occasional tackle and catch an interception thrown right to him, but he can't cover, and more times than not seems out of position. As bad as the secondary has been it speaks for itself why he isn't out there, healthy or not.

Thankyou LilBoogie Y2K

finally somebody with some sense. Congratulations Browns fans. As far as im concerned all of you people that have been begging to put Brady Quinn in cost us this season before it ever got started. You made a pro-bowl qb feel like an orphan in his home stadium and caused a quarterback controversy before quinn had ever stepped on the field. Brady Quinn had opertunities to win this job and didnt.. and so many browns fans think its because crennel has a hate on for him? yah that makes sense the guy likes DA so much he just wants to see him play whether he loses his job or not.. no, he did what any decent coach would do and thats dance with the one that brought you, and thats the guy who won 10 games and threw for almost 30 touchdowns, and not the only back-up quarterback in the league with his own commercials.

This team will NOT be any better with brady quinn at quarterback. So be careful what you wish for browns fans, because it seems like your going to get it.
