A 40 point win over a team with only four wins on the season may not impress the computers.

But it did impress me.

The Texas Longhorns' victory over in-state rival Texas A&M, 49-9 sent a clear message to the BCS. It wasn't enough to prove that they are the second best team in the country. Their loss to Texas Tech put doubts in everyone's head, even though it all ended with one second left on the clock in Lubbock.
What it did was send a clear statement that they are one of the best team's in the nation.
Texas beat OU, but Oklahoma beat Texas Tech, and we all know Texas Tech beat UT.
Florida has one loss, slipping to Ole Miss? USC slipped to Oregon State. Penn State fell to Iowa.
Boise State, Utah, and Ball State are all undefeated, and remember that Boise State beat OU in the Fiesta two years ago, proving they belong.

And don't forget Alabama. What happens if they fall to Florida in the SEC title game? Alabama has only beat one team in the Top 25.

What it comes down to is, how many losses, at what time of the year, quality wins, and who you beat up that wasn't in a strong conference.
We absolutely need a playoff.

Thank you Texas for showing everyone that you are a Top tier team.

Let's see what hapens this weekend. If OU wins at OK State and the computers give them the go ahead, then let me be the first to say to Mack Brown, "I'm sorry", because you have an outstanding team, sir and Oklahoma fans know it, including me.

First off, please go advertise someplace else.

The system the big 12 uses as a tie breaker to determine their division champion is purely an issue for the big 12. They can keep the current system or change it to any system they desire so long as it is within the rules of NCAAF.

By no means is a controversy in the Big 12 at the division level an argument for a playoff system. The rest of the conferences should not have to change their post season format because the Big 12 may (or may not) have some internal problems.

In addition, you are not America.
You are not the voice of every real college football fan.
You are not the voice of America.
You are not even in the position to define any of these terms.
You are barely even a member of FN.

You appear to be an author which might explain these feelings of grandeur.

You are yet another person using FN for internet advertisement proving that FN has no moderators.

Damn - That's pretty harsh.

I should have said that I was the voice of Utah, Boise State, and Ball State, or USC, or Penn State, or Texas if they can't get into the BCS Championship.

There needs to be a playoff for the simple fact that there are too many variables that go into the BCS and most don't have anything to do with the play on the field.

Texas had a tougher schedule than OU or TT and yet that is not brought uo on you are America. Sorry, but I think the team with the tough battles, than in Texas case lost just one in the closing seconds of the 4th quarter, should be rate above OU, that lost by 10 points in Dallas.

A loss is a loss! We've excepted the fact that you beat us in the fourth quarter with a couple of our key players hurt. Why can't you except the fact that you lost! If tu is ahead of OU, then Tech should be ahead of tu. I haven't heard so much crying since my son was born.

First off do a little research before you rant moron. Compare OU's non-conference schedule with Texas .... then compare the margin of victory of teams both OU & Texas played. OU wins hands down. Also, Texas trailed most of the Texas Tech game and Texas trailed for 3 quarters of the OU game. Hope you enjoy watching OU on TV next weekend!
