I have noticed recently more and more TD's are featuring FN fixes.  Many of these TD's are a little bit outrageous but here are my 2 sense on a few sensible FN fixes:

1.  Forfeited TD Rules:  If someone forfeits a turn mid-TD the TD should automatically be over.  The winner should be the one w/o the forfeits.  For example:  Me and Hyped are TDing and I have to forfeit a turn, the Mods set a program that automatically gives Hyped the win.  Why?  How many users do you see that win TD's by a landslide that the opponent forfeited?  The forfeiter never wins those TD's and this program would remove the pointless TD's and make room for the important ones.  This would also solve the problem of forfeiters winning a TD.  Many people complain 'my opponent forfeited a turn and he is still winning.'  This would eliminate that problem also.

2.  Time limits:  24 hours is too long.  My opponent in a recent TD forfeited 2 times.  This TD took 3 days.  A worthless TD that I have doubled his votes!  I am clearly going to win so why keep the TD up that long?  I propose a first argument limit of 1 hour.  If you are on FN to accept the Td you should be able to throw 1200  characters together within 1 hour of you accepting it.  Now to the 2nd and 3rd arguments.  They should have a 12 hour time limit.  The TD's would go much faster and they would have less down time.

3.  TD records:  On the actual TD page don't show the records.  Record voting (voting for the guy who has a better record/more wins) is more prevalent now than ever with the overflow of Newbies.  You tell the user name, and show the picture but NOT the record.  this would encourage voting based on arguments and not based on records.

4.  Remove the inactive groups:  I am not sure how they would do this because if the Group Admin. knows their group is on the verge of being deleted they could just post another blog or a poll or something, but there should be a way to do it.  There are way to many inactive groups on FN and they are just wortheless to be honest.

Let me know what you think.  Please comment and leave messages/suggestions.

so true.

I agree with everything except the forfeited turns. If you outargued your opponent but got called away and couldnt get to a particular argument, your opponent can point this out obviously, but to just automatically give the win to a guy who clearly didnt argue well enough to deserve it would be wrong IMO.

Disagree with #2.

Sometimes I need at least 18-20 hours to make an argument because I have other things to do rather then be in front of a computer.

Well, I am a full time student and I do need some time too but 24 hours? I think that can just drag TD's out

That is valid, yes.

I agree with all your ideas although I would change the guidelines a little.

I disagree with #4.

Inactive groups hold much of FanNation's history.

Atroo Grou.
SIFS
Throwdown Warriors
Josh and Dan's Friday Debates

There's many a person who would shed a tear if those were deleted. Those groups were what spawned the group in which you penned this blog.

Well, someone explain this. Why did I lose to two forfeits?
