It's Sunday morning, and as a Texas fan I am anxiously awaiting the results of today's polls and BCS rankings.  Like most of the folks here, I have been debating (ad nausea) whether Texas or OU should be ranked higher (sorry Tech fans, I'm with Mandel on this one and don't count them into the equation).

However in all of the talk about the three way tie in the Big 12 South, a perhaps a bigger story played out yesterday in Corvalis, OR; one that made the pure college football fan the biggest looser on Saturday.

As a Texas, a Big 12 fan, and a person who loves a great college game matchup, I was devastated by the Oregon State loss yesterday.  I think I was  even more upset by the outcome than even the Pac10 officials who loss a ton of money by not having a second team at a BCS game. An O-state win would have likely set up a Fiesta matchup between USC and either the lower BCS ranked OU/Texas team. Can you think of a better matchup (outside of the National Championship game than that? It undoubtedly would have been the best BCS bowl out of the four.

As a Texas fan I would love for them to go to Miami, but I would have been nearly as happy to settle for a USC rematch, or a USC/OU matchup. For all the talk everyone has given to the issue of what is better: Offense or defense-we would have had TWO games to help us definitively answer that question this bowl season.

I suspect that the impending Big 12 vs SEC matchup will help to answer that question.  However, thanks to that abysmal performance on the part of O-state, we lost an opportunity to see a second game involving a team with an elite offense and defense go at it.  I'm sure the Rose Bowl matchup will be entertaining with USC D going up against Penn State's analog, low def offense.  However, I think the true blue college fans are going have lost out on what would have been an even better Fiesta Bowl matchup.

OU over Texas...It's easy.
Texas wins over UTEP, Florida Atlantic, and Rice are a joke. Wins that without a doubt helped Colt's big numbers
OU has played 6 ranked teams include TCU #14 now and Cincinnati #16. OU lost to Texas but crushed the other ranked teams. TEXAS LOGIC says...Texas over OU...well then Tech over Texas....
All great teams, but hands down better season..OU and Bradford
