It's lunacy. It's madness. Here we are at the point of the NCAA Division I-A football season where you just knew back on Labor Day Weekend, there'd be some people who just got off with stolen money (Oklahoma fans), others who have been mugged (Texas fans), others saying how the f!#$ did we lose to those guys two months ago (USC fans like me), and even those who still think they deserve the bid for the worthless Bowl (Notre Dame fans).

There are a lot of other issues involving our game right now tonight other than the broken down, ignorant, money-controlled BCS "system. Here's a list of statements/thoughts/hopes that hopefully cover the many topics/problems/embarassments/comedic  moments. Think of them as things that clearly should but sadly may never be in college football in NCAA Div. IA (I don't recogonize that FBS and FCS crap):

 * When a team beats another head-to-head at a nuetral site and produces the better body of work, they are ranked higher, plain and simple.

 * Charlie Weis is fired this week, and Ty Willingham is begged to please come back, and right away to coach the bowl game.

* Players who lead statistical categories or are in the top 5 are finalists for awards.

*Alums/boosters/supporters with deep pockets and racist views have ZERO say in who gets interviewed for head coaching positions.

*African Americans find themselves with the same exact, equal amount of seriously legit interviews/opportunties as white men for big-time jobs.

* Lee Corso, Kirk Herbstreit, Mark May, and Desmond Howard leave ESPN and find work elsewhere (Lou Holtz can fetch their coffee) and challenge the soon-to-be monolopy empire the network will soon hold over our sport and how its information is distributed to the nation.

 * A play-off system resembling the ones currently used in Division I-AA, Div. II and III is implemented, and college presidents finally admit they're wrong, so we don't see what happened today every happen again (plus it allows my USC Trojans to lose to Stanford or Oregon State every year and still win a National Title).

How about adding this:
Make the conferences balanced, by that I mean equal number of teams. There is no reason that the ACC has 12 teams, the SEC has 12 teams, Big 12 has 12 teams, the Big 10 has 11 teams, the Pac-10 has 10 teams, and the Big East has 8 teams. Having different number of teams means some play more conference games than others, such as the Pac-10 playing 9 against every other member of the conference, while in the ACC/SEC/Big 12 playing 8 while missing three other members of the Conference. Even with the Championship games at the end they still are not playing every member of the conference. I think if you want Conference Championship games to continue you have to make all of the BCS conferences have them, or limit the number of teams in the conference so they have to play every member of the conference. Either way, but balance the schedule, either 9 conference games with 3 out of conference, or 8 conference games with 4 out of conference games and possible championship game
