I am going to make some crazy predictions here based on schedules. Some I might not even like. But first, yesterdays game and the implications of next weeks game! Yesterday was a nail biter. The Panthers were determined to keep me on edge until Beason sealed Green Bay's fate with the interception. Williams missed that 5th straight 100 yard game but finished with 4 TD's to go with the hard fought 72 yards. And "Superman" Smith made two all important and impressive catches. Now he is only 42 yards shy of 1,000 on the year. If Delhomme gets out of his pick rutt, look for him and Steve to love each other with some aggressive football in the post season playoffs. Next week the game is crucial! Here is why, it will affect the role off from that point on. Carolina has not been beaten at home this year, that will continue next week with a tight win at home over the Bucs. That will make the division interesting and the playoff hunt for the NFC very tight, and I mean the whole NFC because I see Carolina, Atlanta, and Tampa in the post season. Carolina continues winning at home and beats Denver, then drops a heart breaker and playoff preview to the Giants and finishes with a win at New Orleans. That makes them 12-4. Here is where it gets tricky. They could lose the division even at 12-4. I think Atlanta is hot. I think they beat New Orleans, take Tampa at home to split the series and finish hot in Minnesota with a tight game with St Loius being almost a gimmie. That makes them 12-4 if it plays that way and stats decide the division winner. This doesn't discount Tampa. If Tampa loses next week as I predict, then loses to Atlanta at ATL, they still finish 11-5. Even if you trade that ATL game for a win it makes them 12-4 with ATL 11-5. Why does that totally decide the palyoff picture easy. Dallas is going to lose to Pittsburgh and the Giants before a tough one with Baltimore. They finish 10-6 which isn't good enough for a will card in the NFC this year. Chicago already has 6 loses and the NFC west is just pathetic this year. That mean the Giants top the NFC with home field advantage and someone from the NFC south is the other top seed. What a year!!! I won't break the AFC quite as much, but would on request...I predict the Jets, Titans, Pitt and Denver with Indy and ....you guessed it......New England (this is why I don't like the outlook. I HATE New England) taking the wild cards.
