To be robbed - one must actually be the undisputed owner over something and then have it taken away. Yes, UT has a compelling argument. So does OU. Then Texas Tech does as well since you cannot throw a team out just out of convenience.

All conferences (to some degree coaches) have let this system stay in play. The Big 12 teams did not fight in arms about the tie-breaker setup. Well until now.

HEAD TO HEAD:

You cannot throwout -- 45 to 35 and then say done. Otherwise Texas Tech is our representative. Funny, you never hear this part to the equation just this score and some tortured logic that Tech doesn't count because blown out.  Of course, those who state this then won't put any weight to the victor of the blowout for actually blowing out a top 2 team. Note the 2nd largest blowout of a top 2 team in NCAA history and largest since the 1940s.

DOWN THE STRETCH:

Again folks (mostly in burnt orange) will discount a team for being blown out and narrowly winning. But then won't take into consideration why people voted for OU (ie how they did down the stretch).

POLLS:

Funny how people are incensed that someone can jump someone. Unless it is UT jumping Tech who Tech had beaten. Or the Fact UF has jumped and been jumped in same fashion. Just amuzing. Especially when UT only jumped in Harris do to politicking and nothing to do with on the field play of this past week.

TIEBREAKERS:

Two scenarios are out there.

1) ABC (Brent & Gang) brought up during OU vs OSU on Saturday. That is that in past several conferences used as a 3team tiebreaker -- pt differential among common opponents. Note this would have still made OU the prevailing team.

2) Another popular one now by UT supporters - is the SEC model. Of course if you use this one where teams within 5 BCS rankings of each other then goes head to head, you would fail to note that Texas Tech is within 4 spots of Texas and if go head to head. Yes you see there is still that problem

OTHER FACTORS:

Every year many (including myself) have downplayed Ohio State or Big 10 teams and several Pac10 ones as well because of soft nonconference schedules. So why has everyone just put on a blindfold and refused to look at this factor this year. SMU

T-Techs most impressive win v  SMU. Texas - you choose from Rice or Arkansas. Both no where near a top 25 team. Then there is Oklahoma. Which beat 11th ranked TCU by 25 and 12th ranked Cinncinnatti by 28. Huh..

http://web1ncaa.org/mfb/2008/Internet/toughest schedule/fbs_9games_cumm.pdf shows that even the NCAA shows OU with toughest schedule in nation.

HOME v AWAY

Until Saturday night around 11pm EST, UT supporters talked about OU only winning at home (along with Texas Tech) and that they had a neutral field win. Of course, that went out the window and was never heard from again once OU became the only one of the 3 to win on the road against a ranked opponent. A twenty point win agains then #12 OSU who UT beat by 4 at home.

I hate the system... but I get equally annoyed with those who want to use a head to head formula (but only to pertain to 2 of the 3 teams of course) in a 3 team tie.

Texas lost to TT on a freak play by one of the great players EVER.

In a game t-tech led 54 minutes of. Texas was down 22-6 at half.

The point is you can only be robbed if it is yours. No one has the rights there.

BSU 12-0. Oklahoma knows what they are capable of.

An Idaho homer spoutin?? Do you think the 12-0 broncs will match up with longhorns and beat them in a bcs bowl? wait, they're undefeated but still won't go to a bcs bowl.

sorry UT, take care of business. better luck next...actually, not really.

about the things you discussed sooner in WA...great points. esp. all the whining about "if this were the SEC then tex would be in..." not noting that they aren't even 5 spots ahead of tech.

and how is crabtree catching a pass with 2 guys there to at least push him out of bounds a freak play?

it is what it is..sooners owning the big 12 yet again.

"but what about the head to head"
and tech's win?
yeah but it was in the last second.
and the point is?

This is the most logical defense of Oklahoma I have read today, kudos.

I still say Texas should be ahead of Oklahoma but I cannot dispute your logic.

BSU beat your Sooners two years ago. I can tell the embarrassment and bitterness are still fresh. At least you can say your team played in the greatest bowl ever. Congrats.

This whole thing is ridiculous.Texas its simple.beat Tech and you are in. Instead of running around posting 45-35 you should be more concernd about 39-33 thats the real reason you are on the outside looking in.BOOMER SOONER...OU 56 Mizzou 24

well, to use texas logic, "it was a freak play in the past second that cost us that game, so therefore it shouldnt count." thanks for the argument. and fyi, its '08 now.
