... about sums up my life: new house, mountain of stuff to do at W**k (old boss left-- new boss good, but NEW), sister moved out of country, mother being mother, degree to finish, class to teach, thesis to write... SIGH!
But I have managed to watch/listen to most of the games this season. I am proud of my beloved alma mater-- despite the losses to USC and Penn State, they still managed to win (Okay, okay... SHARE) the Big Ten title again this year. That makes five under Tressel, who also led the team to a record fifth straight year over TSUN, making his record against them 7-1. (Four more wins, and he'll have made up for the Cooper years...)
Big news from Northwest Ohio, aka MAC country: Tom Amstutz retired from Toledo and BG fired Gregg Brandon... Finding replacements will be challenging-- Toledo is not the loveliest city in the world, and BG is in the middle of a cornfield. Both should have done better than they did, especially BG-- Brandon is a great OC and will do well in that position somewhere, but the blown leads and losses this season are witness to his inability to deal effectively with defense. The good news is that both teams are in reasonably good shape, personnel-wise, and have solid football traditions, so hopefully it won't be THAT bad... we will see...
BTW-- since UT beat TSUN, and BG kicked the snot out of UT, where in the Big Ten would BG rank? (Probably ninth, since BG was embarrassed after the third quarter by Minnesota, and I'm not sure they could take Illinois...) :)
My last random thought is repeating the joke that you are all probably tired of hearing, but I still giggle every time... and I quote verbatim (which is why it doesn't say TSUN): Did you hear that they almost cancelled the OSU-Michigan game? Yeah, it seems that Michigan cannot get into Ohio because they can't get past Toledo...

Been a while girl. USC was ugly, but i had no problem with the PSU performance. Wunderkind lived up to his hype and proed me wrong.
That was surprising news about UT and BGSU. This could be a tough year recruiting coaches. How would you like to be the AD showing a prospect around BGSU?

Hope all is going well with the new house. I don't know what it is but I always felt better living in a house I owned than renting (must be some human genetics thing)

Agreed on all counts. Against Penn State, Wunderkind made mistakes a true freshman makes in a high pressure game, but overall, the game went much better than I expected... And Wunderkind is going to be a lot of fun to watch once he's shored up his fundamentals...
