I have been pondering on the matter of the BCS picks and stumbled on to a situation. The BCS picks have been having enough trouble as to what team deserves what spot, but what about if the unthinkable happens. I am going to make a possible prediction that would absolutely confuse the heck out of the BCS 'pickers'.

First Game:

           vs.

What if this game was very close, but Florida won in, lets say, overtime. This would make Florida deserving for the #1 spot, but who would get the #2 spot? This is just one of the many possibilitis for a BCS crisis.

Second Game:

              VS .

The Sooners are ranked 2 as of now, so if they can pull off a tough win against Missouri, they will be up for the number 1 spot. But like I said, we are pretending Florida wins against Alabama, so this would bring great speculation for who deserves to go to the championship. To make things intersting in the BCS Rankings, let's go with a Sooners win here.

Third Game:

 VS.

This game isn't the biggest of games, but it still could help out in the on going confusion of the BCS Standings. Lets pretend that USC wins in a absolutely huge blowout. This would prove that USC is as good as talked about and possibly, deserve to be mentioned when it comes to the Championship Game. I know they are ranked 5th, but there schedule has been tough and they have proven their dominance.

Sorry about the schedule, it was fine when I posted it, but it came out terrible.

The SEC champion is going to the BCS title game no matter how close the game is.

If Oklahoma loses, not likely, then USC is going to the title game.

If USC loses against UCLA, again not likely, and Oklahoma loses in the Big 12 championship, then Penn St. will go to the title game. Getting Penn St. into the title game would be the hardest thing to do b/c they are inactive along with Texas, Utah, and Texas Tech. Shoot, maybe even Utah would make it into the title game over Texas and Texas Tech.

Imagine last year when Georgia was ranked #4 behind Mizzou, WVU, and Ohio St. Then Mizzou and WVU lost while Ohio St. and UGA remained inactive and LSU won. We all know how that turned out. The BCS voters will not allow a non-conference champion to enter the national title game again (it happened in '01 and '03 both with Big 12 schools, but the voters have learned from their mistakes, so it won't happen again), so that rules out Texas and Texas Tech right away.

It would be very interesting to see what would happen if both OU and USC lose.

I would double my efforts to bring about a playoff if the BCS lets Texas or Texas Tech into the title game.

I have read the blogs and articles about FL winning but the computers keeping them out of the title game, etc. but I don't see the likely numbers to support it.

It does become interesting if OU loses. Some pollsters may say "We voted Texas anyway." Others may say "Texas didn't win their conference - it goes to USC." And them it gets really ugly if OU and USC lose - do they go to PSU?
