To start off, we all understand that Cribbs does A LOT of different things for the Cleveland Browns, but for all the things he does during games he is still underused on a team that clearly is playing for next season. Why not use this kid more? This season is pretty much a total loss and there's not much more to lose especially when the team is down to their 3rd string QB as a starter and there is NO spark on offense at all (ZERO TDs in the last 12 quarters).

First, please sign this kid to an extended contact, for a lot of money, so he will be a Cleveland Brown until the year 2020. If anyone deserves to get a lot of money it's Cribbs, not K2 or anyone else on the team who wants more money.

Next let's look at what Cribbs does for the team:
(In no particular order.)
1. Kick Returner
2. Punt Returner
3. Punt Coverage (Gunner)
4. Kick Coverage
5. Wide Receiver
6. Running Back
7. Quarterback

Then let's look at the positions where Cribbs is underused:
(In order of being underused.)
1. Running Back (#1 only because he knows how to run in traffic better than anyone)
2. Wide Receiver (get him the ball in open space so he can make a play)
3. Quarterback (why not when you are starting the 3rd string QB)
4. Some defense maybe... (why the heck not!? CB, S, or LB? he might get some sacks!)

Now if Cribbs was on ANY other NFL team, I guarantee that the coaching staff would be using Cribbs to the point where opposing teams would have no idea what to expect when he is in the game. Remember when the Steelers had Kordell Stewart? Before he was the starting QB of the team, Coach Cowher used Stewart in so many different methods opposing teams had no clue what kind of play was about to happen. Why can't a talented, maybe the MOST TALENTED in the NFL, player like Cribbs get utilized more? Why wasn't Cribbs starting at WR opposite Edwards when Stallworth was injured? Why was a former practice squad WR Steptoe starting for those games instead? Why do I keep having this same conversation all year about this with my Browns brothers every Sunday?

In closing, I always thought that the MOST TALENTED athletes played in the NFL, but apparently when you play for the Browns the MOST TALENTED players get to ride the bench (Cribbs, Harrison, and Rucker if he even got a chance to play). Any other NFL coach will tell you he plays the talent, because they can make things happen during a game. Someone please tell the Browns staff to get a clue.....

No, Cribbs is widely considered the AFC version of Devin Heter. Anyways Leon Washington is more explosive this season. The most underrated player in the NFL is the Raiders CB Ashgnomefuck (I have no idea wht his actually name is, thats how little he's talked about)

Underused means not used enough.
Underrated means to underestimate the extent, value, or importance of someone or something.

Yes, Cribbs would be considered both, but those other players are being used by their respective teams, where as Cribbs is not being used hardly at all.

The season has been in the tank for weeks. Give him a chance for a game to have a larger role on the field. Asside from maybe not having him return kicks for a game, what have we got to lose? Give him a shot to make a bigger role for himself. If he does well, who knows, maybe he gets another crack next week.

I think that the more you use Cribbs in new ways may just leave him open to new ways of a pottential injury. Especially this late in a lost season. While we all love the trick and gadget plays that have rarely made an appearance in the offensive play calls, using an 'ace in the hole' type player only tips off future defenses when the team obviously isn't playing for anything but next year's positions. The productivity we saw from the Cribbs running plays against Tennesee is both a blessing and a curse in my opinion. If this guy goes down, who's gonig to return punts and kick-offs? Big Baby. That's who.
