Look out New York. K-Rod is coming to Queens.
Look out New York. C.C.'s locker may not even be in the Bronx.

The Mets are winners in Day 2 of the Winter Meetings, as they are closing a three year, $37 million dollar deal. By K-Rod signing this good deal, the Mets have accomplished filling in one big hole left by Billy Wagner.
I mentioned it on my radio show, however, that the Mets need other pitchers in the bullpen though. Huston Street seems like a fit as a set-up man, but they would need another lefty specialist and a long-reliever in the 'pen. I mentioned that Aaron Heilmann's days are numbered. His use as a liability may be over as the Mets seek to clean up their bullpen while trying to keep at least Joe Smith and Pedro Feliciano in there.
But just when the Bronx was on its feet with C.C. Sabathia meeting with Brian Cashman, now the Dodgers are firing back. The LA Dodgers are going to offer a contract similar to what the Brewers offered, but the years may be longer, given his new home in Southern California. This may be why talks with AJ Burrnett have fired up since the meetings began. We haven't heard a thing from the MLBPA about them wanting the highest bidder to get Sabathia since the Yankees offered their deal. I mentioned on the show and here that if the Giants were to eat up Barry Zito's contract, given his 21-30 record in the two years in San Francisco, then they would be in the running.
So for now, the Yankees are pulling teeth. I will update on the meetings at 11:00 on a special edition on my show tonight.
