BRENDAN'S ORIGINAL MESSAGE ALSO IN POST COMMENTS...

What you will learn as a Giants fan is that this fan base is EXTREMELY loyal and knowledgable. My father became a season ticket holder in 1956 and I've been sitting in his seat since 1986. Our season ticket holder waiting list is some 20+ years long, I've been told it is the third longest in the league behind only Washington and Green Bay. Welcome to the family. I'm glad you survived a Philadelphia childhood without becoming and Eagles fan!!

I did learn about that about loyalty factor with Giants fans in Glendale. The ticket holder sitting behind me was celebrating his 50th birthday - his dad was in Yankee Stadium in '58 for the "Greatest Game Ever Played". Next to me - a guy who went to his first game in 1968 and recalled the chants of "Good Bye, Ally" echoed by thousands of disgruntled fans of that less than successful era. In front of me, a guy I call "Manning Jersey" in the book, left Mardi Gras in New Orleans to be at the game. His dad was seated at the other end of the stadium. His late grandfather was the original season ticket holder. The book is dedicated "To the Fans", and I sincerely mean fans like those, whether they come from New York, Washington, Green Bay, San Francisco, and yes, even Philly. You're the kind of intelligent fan that gets it, and while I can't defend the haters and the ignorant fans in most every town, I respect those who have figured it out.
