A recent press release from Bud Selig's office stated that Major League Baseball has begun preliminary work on a new memorial. The memorial will take the shape of an enormous stove with one of the burners being permanately hot to the touch. It has been decided that the statue will be placed outside of the new Yankee Stadium in New York. Commissioner Selig commented, "This is a great thing that we have decided to do in honor of the countless owners and fans who have been brutally setback with their finances during the so called "hot stove" period. We can all think of at least one occurence, probably more, when our favorite team spent way too much money on a player that couldn't start for the local little league team. "
We should all make the pilgrimage to New York in memory of the fallen finances.
