This blog is basically a forum for Cardinal fans to chat about what they think it would take to bring Peavy to STL and what they would be willing to give up. We know the latest rumors says the Cubs are out so what would you be willing to offer for his services. We know Ankiel wouldn't work because he is owed money next year the whole purpose of wanting to move Peavy. We have a lot of names - Rasmus, Anderson, Wallace, Perez, Boggs, etc.....What would you give up for Peavy to make this deal happen? San Diego fans feel free to add your input about what players you would take knowing that Peavy was going to leave. Enjoy!

I'd trade Rasmus and Anderson to get Peavy.

It may take Anderson, Perez and a couple of more prospects to get Peavy.

Hello Cards fans once again. As a Padres fan who is really really envious you folks now have Khalil Greene (let alone completely disgusted with the Peavy trade saga), let me tell you it will not take very much at all for any team at this point to obtain Jake Peavy. The Padres become more desperate with every mintue ticking off the clock. And make no mistake, SD ownership DOES NOT want Peavy on the mound opening day in a Padres uniform. (think about how infuriating that is for a moment and be thankful you're not a Padres fan)

SD ownership cares far more about pinching pennies than getting MLB-ready baseball players at this point. San Diego does not have an Major League-capable, everyday shortstop at this point after the "Greene for prospects" robbery days ago (good for you guys - no ill will toward St. Louis from me). The catcher position is a coin toss. The best third baseman is in left field and our all-star first baseman must be counting the days until his contract expires to become a free agent. Our right fielder will be trade-bait before July 4 when SD is 15 games under .500.

So what I propose at this pathetic point in being a Padres fan - you get Peavy and give us back Greene.
Ridiculous? I know? But being a Padres fan right now isn't one of the more mentally healthy things...

If you need a catcher and a 3B in SD, we could send you Anderson and David Freese back.

I would give them Glaus, Duncan, and Kennedy maybe mott to see if
that would draw any interest.

I don't think the Padres want the kind of salary that Glaus and Kennedy carry.

Boozer is very capable. But, you need character in a team game. Sloan deserves better.

We should be willing to give up whatever it takes with the exception of our big names. Anderson, Rasmus, Boggs, and Duncan could all be sacrificed if need be. I believe Peavy should be a priority.
