I really believed it was gonna happen.

It looked so much like a slam-dunk for James Madison to head to the Division 1-AA championship game, going into last night.

All right, you want to hear me say it...so here it is: I was wrong. Satisfied now??

Montana came to Harrisonburg to play, and JMU got caught up in the ESPN2 spotlight. Well, that and the fact Rodney Landers wasn't around for the 2nd half. Not an excuse, folks...just fact.

The box score read 35-28 Montana, but let's be honest, shall we?? This game was lost pretty much in the 1st half; the 3rd quarter was just overkill. No focus whatsoever for the Dukes, none.

But for the short time Rodney was on the field, admit I was right about him. It's nice to play "what if", but I'm dealing in reality here. And the reality is, JMU stunk up the joint (Bridgeforth Stadium) last night.

(The Richmond-Northern Iowa game is on right now as I'm writing this. It's 3-0 Northern Iowa just starting the 2nd quarter, and they're marching down the field. I'm of the opinion since JMU lost, why should Richmond move on?? Why ruin my weekend more??)

     Christ, I'm bummed...

That cornerback from Montana made a great play on the ball because I thought the JMU guy had it.

The backup played well. I watched the majority of the game, and even though your Dukes lost they did pretty well in their national prime-time shot.

Yeah, but the deal is Rodney got hurt late in the 2nd quarter and it just went downhill from there.
But tell the truth, J.: am I right in saying Rodney could run a "Wildcat" offense (assuming, of course, he GETS a shot at making it as a RB) for whoever brings him in?? This is where we BOTH miss Thug's insight; God knows he'd agree Rodney could help the Raiders!!! LMAO
You're vindicated; Richmond LOST to Northern Iowa today. Shocked ME when App State went down at UR's hands last week. So your boy Armanti (Edwards, the App State QB) is off the hook...in MORE ways than one. He's "da bomb", J.!!! No lie.
He'll be back for his senior year; make book on it. He wants ANOTHER shot at the title, and I don't blame him.

QUOTE(#2):

Richmond LOST to Northern Iowa today.

You posted too soon... UR: 21, NI: 20 (Never take anything for granted. :D)

Richmond 24, Montana 7. Well, the I-AA champion is in the CAA... that's something, at least. Regardless, I say JMU, Richmond, Villanova, and William & Mary are 4 of the best (I-AA) teams in the country; just wish there could have been a JMU-UR rematch in the finals (and except for that injury to Landers I still think it coulda/woulda/shoulda happened... so, maybe next year?).
