The TRUTH has had a love hate relationship with the NFL dating back to the late great 1980's. Scanning back through the archives one will see a giddy and gleeful TRUTH sitting in front of the floor model Zenith watching his LA Raiders. Plunkett, Marcus, Howie....life was good. But soon the TRUTH realized that the Raidas' were only serving as the prototype of NFL Rosters.
Fast forward to 2008. Is having Terrel Owens on your team any different than Mark Gastineau or Billy Sims? Both great players who possessed an ability to Rock n' Roll all night and play everyday. I get it, Owens' ability and physcial intanglibles leave virtually any coach or GM salivating for his services. But one has to wonder if the talent is worth the price of admission? If his salary were the only cost that would be one thing, but you can pretty much set your sundial to a tantrum from this emotional equivalent to the Hindenburg.
In the last 3 seasons we have seen a pathetic suicide attempt, a cryfest, and now his latest drama of playing the jilted and under appreciated receiver. ENOUGH! One of T.O's teammates recently made the statment that "eventually you have to confront they guy". Sidebar, did anyone else notice that the Cowboys have a lot of guys named Anonymous?
Now, back to business, The TRUTH could not agree more! Owen's needs to get overhimself. However, this is unlikely to happen. This marriage between the Cowboys and TO will end much like his previous two, badly. A year ago at this time we was sobbing all over his replica Michael Jackson shades hurting for his quarterback. Now, this same guy is secretly meeting with other receivers.
A wise man once said..if it quacks like a duck, and walks like a duck....he's probably a complete idiot!
