What I don't get is why he's writing this at all. Isn't Oden a grown man? Hasn't he heard other people say he's not as good as they thought he'd be? If not, he is doing a great job of not listening. Because, he's not that good. Man there I said it. He's not as good as most people thought he'd be. I said it again. I'm not going to say I'm sorry either.
My Grandma always said, if you don't have anything nice don't say anything at all, like Thumper's dad on Bambi, but Grandma is way cooler.
But I feel the need. Just because this Quick guy is being suck a baby about it. Man, who cares if poor little Oden gets his feelings hurt, maybe he should have thought about that when he dumped Ohio State after one year. He's just another dude now, not THE MAN.
Nothing about his game says he's the man. Mutombo had more off. than this guy and was better at everything else as a rookie. Oliver Miller (yep I said Oliver Miller) was better than this dude.
Sure he screwed up his knee, but come on, so have a lot of other guys in the league. Look at Amare. Same thing and that cat is still a killer, everynight.
I think somebody needs to just admit that maybe he's not that good and move on. He's still young, maybe he can get better. Maybe, but not if everybody keeps telling him how great he is. Even his coach is kissing his butt. I thought this was a man's game. We need to let Barkley loose on Oden and tell him what's what.
Oden could be Robert Parish. Not a super athlete, but a damn solid ball player with some rings to show for his career.
They pay these guys too much money not to hold them accountable. So hold them accountable.
