In the hopes that Hollywood will pick up the 2008 Phillies World Series championship season (I love saying that, except I typed it. I love typing that, too), I figured I'd throw together some actors/celebreties who may be a good fit to fill the roles. Also, the Flyers have given up 2 goals to the Canadians in the first 10 minutes, and I'm pissed off.
Manager Charlie Manuel played by Robert Duvall:
- Both balding, both have liver spotting, both have a sweet southern drawal, both rule.
Catcher Chris Coste played by Steve Carrell:
- Some resemblance. Coste was a 33 year-old rookie, Carrell was a 40 year-old virgin.

Catcher Carlos Ruiz played by Luis Guzman:
- Short stocky Latinos. And I guarantee Luis has a cannon for an arm.
Utility Man Eric Bruntlett played by Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart:
- You may not see the connection fully, but Bruntlett wears that outfit after victories in the locker room.
Utility man Greg Dobbs played by Ben Affleck:
- Definite resemblance, and both are best suited in a role that requires only one or two at-bats/lines.
Third baseman Pedro Feliz played by the Rev. Jesse Jackson:
- Hope the Rev has a good glove, 'cause Lord knows Pedro does.

Shortstop Jimmy Rollins played by Jermaine Dupri:
- These photos do no justice, as these dudes really look like twins. And they're both about 5-5". And they both have rap albums. And they both are mack daddies. And they both think the Mets suck.
Second baseman Chase **** Utley played by Patrick Dempsey:
- McDreamy will play as the World McF***in Champion. And they both have hot wives. 'Nuff said.
First baseman Ryan Howard played by KRS-ONE:
- Crazy right??? Both can also be referred to as "The Blastmaster". I think they were seperated at birth.
Leftfielder Pat Burrell played by Dave Matthews:
- Strong resemblance and hairline factor....and the ladies love both. A lot. I know at least one of them loves the ladies back. A lot. His name is not Dave.
Centerfielder Shane Victorino played by The Rock Dwayne Johnson:
- Another strong resemblance, however this would be a Balco-ed out version of The Flyin' Hawaiian. Which is fine with me since it's a movie. Kinda like Rocky IV.

Rightfielder Jayson Werth played by Eric Dane:
- Word on the street is, Werth and Dane are both in the beginning stages of getting their "ZZ Top" on.
Outfielder Geoff Jenkins played by Brett Favre:
- Geoff with a "G" played in Wisconsin for most of his career. Favre with a "vr" played in Wisconsin most of his career. Favre throws TDs and INTs. Jenkins throws fist pump parties at second base after blasting a double to lead off Game 5, part II. I think they are the same person.
Outfielder Matt Stairs played by wrestler Terry Funk:
- This is the only picture I could find of Matt Stairs in a Phillies uniform. He is in the process of finishing off the Dodgers by sending one off into the night capping off a dramatic comeback and sending the Phils to the World Series. What a friggin' bomb. Oh yeah, and he looks like Terry Funk. Trust me.
