Was the 2008 season a building year for LSU?

11:38 PM ET  12.20 | Many people have seemed to forget that only 11 and a half months ago LSU won the national championship beating Ohio State. Now 2008 seemed to be a promising season until Ryan Perilloux was kicked off the team and Hatch was injured fairly early in the season. Yet through everything Jordan Jefferson the freshman quarterback seemed to shine in a dead death valley. So was 2008 a building year for LSU. Will we see them back in the BCS hunt in 2009 and will we ever see Jordan Jefferson in the heisman race?
