Slapshot! Even if the Hansons - or should I say the Carlsons - weren't in this, it's still completely brilliant, all the way to the fantastic season finale against a team from murderer's row. The Hansons' heroics and classic quotes make this my number 1. Yes, I'm puttin on the foils! Honorable mention - Youngblood.
The Natural from a very deep field of baseball films. Sure, it has planty of ham, not to mention cheese in the script, but I like it for the classic moments like when Redford strikes out the Whammer, and when he hits the cover off the ball, and when he continually belts them out of the park at BP. Field of Dreams and Long Gone (with its brilliant cast) are both excellent too. Mr Baseball with Tom Selleck was another worthy of consideration.
Rocky. Easy choice here. Best soundtrack of any movie other than the Karate Kid. Million Dollar Baby unlucky.
Remember the Titans. Good mix of drama and action. Solid performances all round, and a worthy cause for any movie. I'll watch this movie on any given Sunday, or Saturday for that matter. We Are Marshall tugs at the heart strings. Pacino's speech in AGS gets it a mention on this list. Sorry Tom, but Jerry Maguire falls off the couch here.
Not much in the way of hoops films that I really liked, however, Hoosiers, and The Basketball Diaries would come closest to making the list.
Fever Pitch, the film adaptation of Nick Hornby's classic English football novel about an Arsenal addict is absolutely sensational.

Remember the Titans? I would have to say FNL but there are several more films I would consider before Remember the Titans including another Disney - Invincible.
Don't forget Miracle for Hockey as another runner-up.

Thanks for the comments SD.
I love FNL the series, as I do One Tree Hill, but I haven't seen the film. I haven't seen Invincible either, but unless Wahlberg traded in his Bostonian accent, I'd go with the Titans as the best gridiron feel good movie.
I haven't seen that hockey movie either, but I did see The Mighty Ducks (and regrettably a couple of its sequels), and it got pipped at the post by Youngblood, despite featuring Emilio Estivez and a young Pacy from Dawson's Creek.

Remember the Titans? Are you kidding me? All The Right Moves was better than that. In fact even Air Bud was better than that! How about The Waterboy? Friday Night Lights? Brian's Song? The Longest Yard? Rudy? Jerry Maguire? Invincible? Remember the Titans could have been so much better than it actually was. I learned so much about people and football watching that movie--NOT.
"We're integrating T.C. Williams High School. This is the new coach."
"Maybe you should quit?"
"I'm not quitting."
"Yea! We won the championship. Let's try to dance cool."
The End.
Wow, such drama.
