The Yankees are a likeable but hateable team. To me they're likeable. To my neighbor, they are hateable. To Manny Ramirez, they are both. During the 2004 ALCS, Boston Red Sox left fielder Manny Ramirez said he would never in his whole life play for the Yankees under any circumstances no matter what. Now, 4 years after he said that, he wants the Yankees to give him a contract so he can accept and be part of the best team in history. He will take the money and play for a team that he hated at one point in his career. Suprising, but true. Manny changed a little last year after he left the Red Sox and a nicer person having more fun playing. The Dodgers made a good move and boom! Manny was playing for a manager he played against his whole life and was a bitter rival with him for 10 years, Joe Torre. And he liked it so he should be able to like the Yankee organization who has introduced many stars over the past years but this time getting more stars will help bring the title to the big apple. Mark Teixeira is demanding for too much money and with Sabathia, Alex Rodriguez, and A.J. Burnett weighing down the salary, the Yankees have to go with a non- long term guy who can still play very well considering his age. The answer is yes, the Yankees will sign Manny Ramirez and not Mark Teixeira because it will be better and smarter. Who knows how much Steinbrenner will make with the bad economy and ticket sales going so high not many people can afford them in the new stadium. The Yankees will have a great year and make through at least the first round of the playoffs with the team they have built.

What could Manny bring to the Yankees? Your not going to put him in the outfield...what ever happened to Xavier Nady? He was doing quite well for them last year...

As a Red Sox fan, I really cannot imagine Manny as a Yankee, it would be truly heart breaking. Another heart breaking signing... Johnny Demon (sorry) in the 2005 offseason and now this? I hope the Red Sox do NOT sign Mark Teixeria, I really don't think we need him.
