As a lifelong fan of this great game, I have one wish for Christmas. I want the League office to become more involved in cleaning up the league and to hold clubs accountable for their shortcomings. Let's look at some examples shall we?

 A. The Detroit Lions franchise should be the victim of a Class Action Lawsuit by their season ticket holders! To continuously field such an inept bunch is borderline criminal and the fact that Mr. Ford is too old to exercise good judgement and get a respectable front office in there to clean this place up is disgraceful.  Every fan should get at least a partial refund for their season tickets for the last several years. I would say a complete refund, but watching such ineptitude has not been this much fun since the Keystone Kop's days, so they could collect comedy club rates.

B. Pacman Jones!! I wish I could get fired from the same job over and over and know I could appeal to the soft hearted commissioner and get my job back EVERYTIME!!!! The gall of Jerry Jones to blame his security for this most recent incident is shows how warped his sense of values  have become. He wanted Pacman reinstated to get the Cowboys into the playoffs. Period. So, the Commissioner bought it. Pacman is the real problem here. How many chances are you going to give him. By the way, Jerry is really smart, because he knows how gullible you are if you swallowed that line. "It was the security details fault" If you believe that, I got a bridge I can sell you...

 C. Cincinnati, Cleveland, St. Louis, Oakland, San Francisco... See A. without the Mr. Ford line...

D. All of the Thugs you allow to continue to play this game after their convictions... Shameful. Does the league have a working code of ethics and morals? Is it written on Toilet Paper? It should be, because the players use it to wipe up after their most recent public dump because they know they will be reinstated or the NFLPA will get them back onto the team.

E. If you let Michael Vick back into this league after the atrocities he has been convicted of, I am convinced you are on the take!!!! Period!!!! That man should not be allowed the privilege of playing in any professional sport after what he has done. 23 months is a pittance of what should have befallen this sc*mbag.

F. Plaxico Burress... My guess is he will be playing elsewhere next year. Probably Dallas or Oakland. Both their owners do not care if the player is a thug, just as long as he can grab headlines and wear the uniform. He will hire lawyers to plea his criminal case down to some community service and the NFLPA will push you aside and usher him back into the league. In the old days, commissioners had a thing called a SPINE and they used it to keep the players and the owners in line with the spirit and rules of this once respected league.

G. Al Davis, Jerry Jones; How long are you going to allow these two worst examples of NFL ownership keep it up? Al is inept and Jerry Jones is a kinder, gentler George Steinbrenner, but still just as much around the bend. His motto is "I try to Buy Championships". I know the other owners have to approve any new owner, but shouldn't they have a review of existing ownership periodically to weed out the ones who have let power go to their head or lost their ability to exercise good judgement. Both of these men are prime examples of these "eccentricities". Rich people do not go crazy, they become eccentric, or in both of these cases, egocentric.

H. My final point in this rant... The Pro Bowl... Please, pretty please, put the voting back into the hands of the players, coaches and or sports writers. The fans do not have a clue!! Being a popular player is not the same as being a Pro Bowl player. The Pro Bowl used to be something besides a popularity contest and bargaining chip for sponsors. It used to represent the elite in the league at every position. Now it is the same headline grabbers year after year. Some deserve it, but far too many do not belong there at all if you look at their stats and attitudes.

If the Ghost of Christmas past, or Christmas present for that matter came to you and you brought around at least one of these points, I would consider it the best Christmas gift ever to us fans... You better pray for the Ghost of Christmas Present. The Ghost of Christmas Past would probably bring Slinging Sammy, Vince Lombardi, and a host of others to kick some butt for letting the league come to this state...
