I wrote on this earlier on my new blog for MLBlogs.com--it's the same name as this one--but in case you never get around to finding it, here's the highlights:

All because Mark Teixiera and Scott Boras are completely oblivious to the fact we're in a recession, not to mention the economy has tanked...for a lousy $2.5 million a year more than what the Nationals were offering, Teixiera is a Yankee.

OK, wanting to tell John Henry and the Red Sox to eff themselves is one thing. But I thought the object of saying you leaned towards an East Coast team was so your family could see you play. You realize just how much of a schlepp from Severna Park, MD it is to the Bronx, Mark?? Well, do you, punk??

(Damn, I'm channeling "Dirty Harry" now. See how pissed I am??)

That's all right, though. Just means I can watch the 3-game series in the "new" Yankee Stadium between the Nats and Yankees (June 16-18)...and flip the bird @ Teixiera every time he comes to bat. You know, all Judas did was turn on Jesus--but I wouldn't want to be Mark Teixiera right now, having to tell his family why he and his gold-prick agent said "eff you" to the Nationals.

     I'm disgusted.

Thats o.k. because the yankees still suck *** and the angels still are the only A.L. team with a winning record against the evil empire......see you soon tex PUNK...............Go Angels

You just answered your own question, pal. Now do you REALLY believe Teixiera is the x-factor for the Yankees??
June 16-18, pal. That's all I'm saying...

I say let the Yanks spend whatever they want on whoever they want... It hasn't seemed to be helping them lately.

As an Atlanta fan I wish we'd just take the next season as a loss and not trade away and prospects and work on our future. Winning with young talent is more exciting to me than trying to "buy the world series" as most people say about the Yanks. Take an impressive TB team this past season for example.
