When a man proposes marriage his life changes in so many ways. No longer can he just pick up and do something with his friends; his priority is now his wife. When he becomes a father no longer can he just plan for himself; he must think about his children and plan for their future.

In the old days, Dad was given the best chair to sit in, the best cut of meat at supper, time alone to read the paper; he was treated with respect. Nowadays, in many cases, Dad gets shoved aside, and all the focus is on the kids and their wants and needs. I mean, it's almost Christmas and all the commercials you see are for toys and games and bikes and stuff.

It made me wonder what it was that I could do for all the Dads in FN (no, I'm not giving lap dances........all right.......stop laughing) and I came across this poem. I don't know who wrote it as I found it on the internet, but I hope you enjoy it.

What Does Santa Bring for Daddies? What does Santa bring for Daddies, Too old to want a toy? Wallets, watches, ties and sweaters Don't make for much joy. What do daddies want for Christmas, Really, in their hearts? So perfect that they'd shriek like kids, Once the shredding starts? Oh, Daddy! Is there anything You want beneath the tree? Other than, of course, to watch Me open gifts for me?
