Why Ottawa Senators fans suck!!!! | Spo's Blog

The Toronto Maple Leafs are my favourite hockey team. That is something I am proud to say, and will never deny. I love em to death. I live and die with every slapshot from the point, and every glove save. I know they are not the best team right now, and they have alot of problems.

However, what I don't get it, is fans from different teams around the league, who take every single oppourtunity to bash the Maple Leafs. It is as if they have some sort of sick obsession with everything and anything Maple Leafs related. What I also do not get, is how is every single move made by the Leafs and Leafs management a terrible one? Granted they have made some bonehead moves, but you know what so does every team, the Leafs are not any different. Are the Leafs the first team to make a bad trade? or Sign a player to too much money? No, and they certainly will not be the last.

Fans from the Senators and Canadiens are the worst. Canadiens fans think because they're team has won 24 Cups, they are the Kings of Hockey, well guess what those Cups mean nothing once the puck is dropped every night. However if you get into a hockey argument with a Montreal fan, their first point will always be "oh yea, well we have 24 Cups, so? Did that get you into the playoffs last year? Will that get you into the playoffs this year? No, in fact it means nothing. Ottawa Senators fans are probably the worst in all of hockey. I go to school in Ottawa, and live there during the hockey season and it is sad. Not only can I walk down the streets and get more Pro-Leaf and "Go Leafs Go" chants then pro-Sens comments, I have never been "chirped" by a Sens fan saying "Go Sens Go" or "Sens RULE", no in fact it is always something negative about the Leafs, nothing positive about their team, as well it is always from across the street or 35 feet behind me. It is actually quite sad. Any given day of the week, you are bound to see more Maple Leaf hats, jersey's and t-shirts then Senators paraphenalia, on the streets of Ottawa. I also love all the "die-hard" Sens fans over the age of 20, because you know as a kid they cheered for someone else, then when Ottawa became good, they hoped on the home team bandwagon.

It is also quite sad to see Sens fans bragging about their recent "success" in the playoffs. I'm sorry fellas, but only one team can have success in the playoffs, and that is the team that wins the Stanley Cup. If you're a student, and you need 80% to pass a course, but finish with a 75%, is that a success because you got close? Absolutely Not! I'm sorry, but only 1 team was successful this year, and 29 other teams failed.

Anyways, that is my rant, had to get it off my chest. I don't want to paint all Sens fans with the same brush, I realize that is unfair, and I have a buddy who is a Sens fan, and he's a great guy.
