Did I miss something? Did Jerry Jones fall and hit his head in the shower? Is he on Prozac? I cannot imagine anyone being so much in denial as this man! I am not a Dallas Fan, but I used to respect them as a good team with what once was good ownership.
The comments made after the "Philly Debacle" were not just a sign of being in denial, but of utter ignorance!!! Jerry has always been the kinder gentler "George Steinbrenner" of the NFL, but he has a $1.2 Billion dollar stadium opening next year and he expects to fill the seats with this bunch of selfish clowns???? Terrell Owens was aptly named a "Team Killing Cancer" by Peter King. Along with Tank Johnson, Pacman Jones, and Tony "I fear the Holiday Season" Romo, the chemistry is not only awful, but detrimentally so!!
With all due respect to Wade Phillip's Defensive Genius, he is a terrible Head Coach! His responses after this loss showed a complete lack of ideas on how to right this ship. He looked like a deer in the headlights and is clueless on how HE FAILED this team. Jerry Jones deserves a lot of the blame bringing in so many "headache" players, but Wade should have done a better job of keeping them in line.
Why Terrell Owens was not cut, benched, or fired/released by now is beyond me. Talk about a truly selfish, ignorant, and trashy player. He is the definition of NO CLASS, NO B*LLS, and NO CLUE about being on a TEAM!! He has HOF ability, but he will never see Canton! Mentally, he is a sociopath and lacks empathy or conscience. There is no other explanation for his behavior and performance on and off the field.
Pacman should be gone by next season. Likely he will be in prison. His type usually will get into trouble after this kind of season. I would not be surprised if the Strip Club revenue in Dallas goes up significantly since he will have plenty of time on his hands after failing to make the playoffs. We all know Pacman and Strip clubs = Mugshots!!
I should be kinder to Tank Johnson as he has made a concerted effort to stay off the Police Blotters this year. I just wish he would put that same effort out on the field of play. He still can turn his career around. He just has to want to do it!
Tony Romo needs to seek counseling. There is no doubt he has talent and ability. 95% of this game is mental! He collapses in the important games while being stellar in the ones that do not matter at all. That is all about mindset and mental strength. Seek help Tony!! You need it!!
Dear Mr. Jerry Jones,
Please be a quiet, deep pocket, and silent owner of this storied franchise. Your draft/free agent meddling and your Coaching selections over the last decade have totally unrailed this historic team. I know you like your face on TV, and the credit for the good times, but you are not a coach, talent scout, or good GM. Hire truly good people for these jobs, keep your deep pockets flowing freely, and you will get your much sought after "purchased championships".
Thanks,
The Dallas Fans!!
Finally, to the Commissioner...
Please ban convicted felons from being eligible for NFL play or Staff!! The more I hear about Michael Vick or Plexico Burress being around to play next year, the more I want to puke on your desk for allowing such injustice. Reward the good, honest, hard working players! Do not reward FELONS!!
I know Michael Vick has served his time, but that does not mean he should soil the hallowed ground of any NFL stadium next year. Let him do what most convicted felons do... Struggle to find work of any kind and truly earn an honest living the hard way. Maybe then he can learn to appreciate what he once had and how he blew it all! From his Bankruptcy hearings, I am sure he has not learned. He has millions stashed and hidden from his creditors in case he is not playing anywhere. This does not sound like someone who is repentent and sorry for the heinous actions this man has admitted to in court.
As for Plexico, he will be too old to play when he gets out. I truly hope Mayor Bloomberg keeps the Prosecutor honest and bans any plea deal with this thug!! He needs to understand being in the NFL is a privilege and not a "Get out of jail free Card". Three years should allow him to learn his lesson and he can go be an assistant coach in some high school somewhere and earn an honest living while he plods along through life knowing he blew what could have been a HOF career.
Thats all for this week... I welcome comments and emails...

Jerry Jones lost the very last little bit of respect I had for him when he openly admitted that even bad publicity is good for the Cowboys. What an obnoxious idiot. From the firing of the class-act Tom Landry forward this guy has been a real redneck of a jerk.

I agree! Good luck to the Giants! They are the NFC Team I am pulling for! A Manning Bowl would be awesome, but I think it will be Tennessee facing the Giants in a tough one that NY should win.

That was his FIRST mistake (the Landry firing), and it went downhill from there.
They also said Michael Irvin would never get in the HOF, and look what happened. So the jury's out on T.O., honestly...
Oh, did I mention I happen to be a Redskins fan?? And that we absolutely DESPISE and ABHOR the goddamned Dallas Cowblows??? LMMFAO

TO Does not have Irvin's numbers nor friends. Plus with the super backup at HOF worthy receivers, he should be denied for decades to come. Thanks for the comments and I hope Washington keeps Zorn. I think he will develop them into world class with a few years to be in control of the team.

Irvin was at least a leader in the locker room.....T.O. is not, and never will be. Too selfish. Jerry "Skeletor" Jones is the main reason for this team being in the shape it's in. Not many people here in Texas like Skeletor, and I mentioned in a blog earlier, that the only way we can be rid of him is to stop buying jerseys, tickets and what have you. If he cannot fill his monument to himself (the new stadium) then maybe he'll lose money. But, I doubt that will happen. The only way we're really going to be rid of him is if he dies, retires, or gets mentally incapacitated.

I think Jerry could get one or two more cosmetic surgeries and assume the lead role in The Nightmare on Elm St series. He might make a little money and would be front and center on the tabloids.
I suggested that Jerry consider Pope Benedict to assume the position of head coach. Just like Jerry, the Pope has been successful in another line of work and should do just fine as the Cowboy's new coach. Hell! Just think what the Pope could do for Tony's Hail Mary passes!

The creator of this article is a moron...
Jerry Jones fired Tom Landry who was CLEARLY past his prime and hired Jimmy Johnson.
Jimmy and Jerry both made the trades and built/drafted/signed the players that engineered 3 superbowls in 4 seasons and almost 4 of 4.
Granted, he has swung and missed on several players/selections/coaches over the years but he has connected as well.
Last I looked, he hired Parcells and help get the Cowboys out of the 5-11 cellar and back to meaning something again.
Jerry also brought in Phillips and TO and got this team to 13-3 in 07.
Granted, they took a step back this season but that isnt PacMan's fault, nor was it TO's.
Like TO or not, he is VITAL to Dallas's success. He commands major attention of ANY defense that faces us.
Dallas lost this season for 2 reasons...injuries that led to an inconsistent offense and the offense's ability to stop the blitz.
If Garrett examines the tape from the Steelers, Giants, Ravens and Eagles games and figures out that 5 wont block 6 or 7, then he will learn to leave an extra blocker in here or there, give Tony time to throw and they will win more....period, end of story.
Jerry Jones has done nothing but make Dallas mean something again and get them into a new stadium.
Get a real opinion, bozo.

Jeff, as an obviously uninformed fan, your points are BS. Learn something about football before you embarrass yourself like this.
JJ is not a talent scout or GM. He needs to run the business. Jimmy Johnson got those Super Bowls. JJ just provided the funds for the players.
JJ is also the one who would not give Parcells the reigns to the organization and the reason Parcells left. He realized his efforts were futile while the Mad Scientist that is JJ was the owner.
If you think Romo is a Super Bowl QB, then this argument is useless as there is nothing I will be able to do to change your mind, or educate you ENOUGH about football, teams, and men.
TO has skills, but in the pros bucket, that is all he has. The Cons bucket is overflowing on this player and for you to defend him in any capacity only shows your true ignorance of Football, it's roots, or Teamwork. How old are you? 17? You obviously know no history of the game, and do not have enough life experience to comment appropriately. Go back to watching TV and playing video games. Come back when you are old enough to know something...

Tom Landry may have indeed been "past his prime", as his last couple of years would attest. But, the way Jones handled it was clearly foolish and stupid. He embarrassed him and for what reason? How many coaches have you seen work 29 years for ONE team? ALl you have to do is check out Landry's record. It speaks for itself, and then a few years later, Landry dies from leukemia. He may have been suffering from it the last few years of his coaching life as well, and likely was. Landry did NOT deserve to be fired the way he was.........maybe coaxed into retirement, but not like he was done.

Jerry Jones still is a classless act, even after trying to make amends with Landry. A day late and a dollar short with that. The damage had already been done, and he isolated a lot of fans for years, and I still have no respect for him. Every time he opens his mouth, something foolish comes out..............."even bad publicity is good for the Cowboys.." Or words to that effect. Figure that one out.
Oh, Jeff, by now you should know how foolish Jerry's Kids looked last night, so your response and calling people names show just how "smart" you are. Did you know that Garrett had lots of help from Tony Sparano last year calling offensive plays? This year, Garrett didn't have that luxury, and as such, it showed. We all know how Sparano fared with the 'Fins. They're still playing and we're not. Get your facts straight.

Never said he was a talent scout or GM, but he does help make decisions and has done so since he took over...credit has to be given regardless..
You have ZERO clue as to why Parcells left and quite frankly, Parcells is all about Bill and that is 4-5 years and cya...looks like he might shorten that even more in Miami...to think it was b/c of JJ or TO is speculation on your part since there is not one time since Bill left that he has actually even said that....guess you just "know it all" huh?
I never said Romo was a SuperBowl QB, but, he is one of the Top 5 rated QB's in the league over the last 2+ seasons and has played all of just under 40 football games...the great Peyton Manning did not win his 1st playoff game til around 90 something...go figure...maybe our expectations are incredibly high for the young guy and quite frankly he shares in blame to this point but shouldn't bear it all.
I will take TO's issues all day long for an opportunity to win...tell me who else you have in mind that will catch 70+ balls for over 1000yds and 10+ scores a year and command a double team on almost every single snap??
I have been a Boys fan since I was 4 and that has spanned 32yrs now...Landry was a great coach, a hall of famer, but when JJ came, it was time for Tom to go...maybe it was not pretty but it was what ended up being best for the franchise...HISTORY showed that, but I guess you are too ignorant to see it....considering 3 titles came in the early 90's.
JJ owns the team and is a good business man and as a businessman who takes risks, some pay off, others dont.
I will take a risk taking owner who got 3 titles from his risks vs a conservative GM anyday of the week.
We can debate til we are blue in the face, what wont change is my opinion of JJ nor his ownership role in the team....
So learn to deal with it.

The rest of the people on here have spoken as well Jeff. You are an idiot blinded by the BS JJ has been spewing and a total lack of respect of what a good football player is in the NFL. You deserve the season you will see next year. If you have the slightest respect for TO, then you truly are a product of the media and probably think Bling is more important than respect for your team. TO is of this ilk and you respect that? I wonder what that says about you????

By the way, your first comment totally validates my argument and invalidates yours???
"Never said he was a talent scout or GM, but he does help make decisions and has done so since he took over...credit has to be given regardless.."
The fact that he is not a talent scout or GM means he should NOT BE INVOLVED in making player decisions. His job is to sit on his butt in the owner's box and sign player checks, and insure that GOOD MANAGEMENT AND COACHES ARE IN CHARGE OF THE TEAM AND PLAYERS. Period. Good Night amateur...

Where to start? Of course, JJ makes decisions..no one doubted that, but his timing and some decisions are questionable. When the Cowboys needed help in the secondary, JJ goes and gets Roy Williams from Detroit. The dude would have been a free agent at the end of this year and JJ could have had him w/o sending those draft picks to Detroit. This is what I call an "impatient" decision. Did we need another receiver? No, we could have waited. As it turned out, RW was a none factor anyway for the most part. After training camp, I'm sure he'll make a fine addition, but at the time, he wasn't really needed. JJ got lucky in the fact that Scandrick played pretty good for a rookie. This clown they're trying to turn into a receiver from a QB.......always injured, but when he hasn't been, I haven't been much impressed with him. But, he's been here 3 years already and not much production from him.
Bill Parcells left because he could not co exist with JJ, much like Jimmy Johnson. He seen that these guys was not on the same page, and they continue to show that. I am not debating their talent, because they are talented, but not very cohesive. Too many individuals, and it continues. Yes, I agree that it's always about Bill, and that should show you just how much individualism exists on this team. Actions speak louder than words, and Bill didn't have to say anything about why he left. He's not going to either.
Parcells had told Romo that to be successful he needs to leave the celebrity out of his life. That hasn't happened, and we all know about Jessica Simpson. Parcells told the media "not to annoint him yet", but they are, and as such, the expectations are extremely high. I am willing to see how and if he does mature enough to lead this team, because he does have the talent to do it. That's not debatable. What is debatable is if he will grow from his experiences or not. Watching him speak the other night, it appeared to me that he didn't care and was ready to go off on a vacation or something. His words were that he would wake up the next morning and life goes on, or words to that effect. We will see how long it takes, I'm sure.
I am going to touch base AGAIN on the Landry subject. I again will tell you that the man did NOT deserve being fired the way he was, regardless of whether it was for the best of this "franchise". This franchise, my friend, is an inanimate object. Tom Landry was a living, breathing human being. For you to come here and say his firing was best for an inanimate object, is crude and shows you have no feelings for anything human. If, per se, you were replaced at your work by someone who your boss felt was better suited in the interest of the company, I doubt you'd like that either.

Jones did not win any of those SB'S in the 90's, by the way. Jimmy Johnson did. And, no, Switzer didn't win one either, although he was credited with the last one. He won that with Jimmy's people. Jones has to be a good businessman, of course, or he wouldn't have the money he has, but he has no football sense. His decisions speak volumes about that, and will continue doing so. So, you can continue to be a Jerry homer......I really don't care, nor am I trying to change any of your opinions. But, just so you know, you aren't the only one who has watched the Cowboys for years. I barely remember Eddie LeBaron playing, but I know I watched Don Meredith. I haven't stopped either, good times or bad.
You continue to have your opinions....you have that right, but then so do other people. Also, you might want to leave the name calling out of any discussions you have with anyone............you might earn some respect for your opinions, and make a friend or two.

Not interested in making "friends" with random people on the internet....
You want to internet date, go to the appropriate site....
As I said before, Jerry is a risk taker....some pay off, others don't.
I will take Jerry as an owner over any other owner in the league.
Are there better GM's? Yes...but Jerry is not the worst of the group and does not make the decision alone, and that is what I am driving home at...Jerry has scouts and other coaches on his current staff that help make selections in the draft etc....
As far as bringing players in, every GM in the league misses on guys, even Belicheck and the GM in New England...difference is, Jerry gets more media attention than any other team/owner in the league, so his misses are amplified.
Its just comical to me that you guys call him "getting lucky on Scandrick"...so you dismiss things when he does well and blast him when he doesnt.
Risk is Risk...
Like me or not, call me names or not, refer to me as a boy as much as you want, the name calling is childish at this point...you will have your opinion and I will have mine.
