Hey sports lugs. A new guy here. My name is Daniel. I've been a football fan since around '68, '69. First team I liked was the Minnesota Vikings. Loved it when they played outdoors, and you could see the frozen breath. Loved it, loved it, loved it. Now, I'm basically a Cowboy fan, though a fairweather one I'll admit. Let's see, was that them playing in Philly last night or a reasonable facsimile. Yes, America's Team was creamed.
There certainly seemed to be a lot of confusion going on with the Pokes. I think the offense was playing so bad, they figured they would try their hand at defense and that maybe they could do better in stopping runners from long runs to the end zone unlike their real defense which failed to do so against Baltimore a week ago. I guess that's why Romo fumbled first to see what would happen. Well, they weren't able to stop the Philly defender who took it all the way for fifty plus yards. So then Marion Barber decides to follow with his own fumble figuring the offense surely could stop the Philly defender from a greater distance--80 or 90 plus yards. Well, that didn't work either.
Moving right along, two things I am so tired of hearing. First, having to hear how much Brett Favre loves the game. I'm sure he does, but does that mean we need to be constantly bombarded with whether he'll be back another season. Me thinks not. Second, having to keep hearing and putting up with the likes of Terrell Owens' jabbering when he's not getting the ball enough and then having it justified by saying he's just a competitor and just wants to win. Oh please. Enough of that balderdash.
With all the coaches being fired and those who will be, I've not heard Jon Gruden's name being mentioned. I say this especially in the light of Eric Mangini being fired. Wasn't Tampa Bay at 8-3 similar to the Jets and then collapsed as well? In fact, to differentiate from last season, TB did the same thing last year as well; but NY actually improved from last year. And at least NY lost to a good Miami team albeit at home while TB lost to Oakland, 5 and 11 Oakland-- also at home! Oh well, at least Oakland spared us from another mediocre Tampa Bay playoff team. So is Coach Gruden untouchable simply because he won a super bowl a few years back. Perhaps. May receive the same treatment Coach Billick did after he won his sb with the Ravens. More chances. We shall see.
Can anyone remember the last time two rookie QBs ( Ryan and Flacco ) led their teams to the playoffs along with two rookie coaches? Has it ever happened?
Hey I loved this NFL season of 2008 and am very much looking forward to the playoffs even though there is an 8-8 team and another 9-7 team involved. Atrocious. There should not be an 8-8 team in the playoffs or really even a 9-7.
Well, thanks for listening. Good day.

Detroit could have beaten the Cowboys yesturday, hell my high school could beat the boys.
You are right though, there should not be an 8-8 team in the playoffs. 9-7 let 'em in, 8-8 no way.

The Pokes played horrible....pained me to watch that debacle they called a football game on Sunday. I hope that memory goes away soon.
I think the NFL should change the playoff system for each conference though...
The top 6 teams should make it regardless of their lame **** division.
Seeing an 8-8 team make it is disgusting.
The seedings would change a bit but this is how it would change for both:
Ten , Pit, Indy, Mia, Balt, NE instead of Ten, Pit, Mia, SD, Ind, Balt
NY, Car, Min, Arz, Atl, Phl instead of NY, Car, Atl, Min, Phl, TB
