This is a guideline for the Broncos to be competitive next season.
1. Go old school. By that I mean, Mike, your QB of all QBs shouldn't be throwing the ball second most in the NFL. You have success in the run game no matter who is playing, for god sake you made Tatum Bell, Mike Bell, Selvin Young, and some random guy you picked off the street look like good NFL RBs.
2. Pick a god damn RB and stick with him. Mike is to RBs, what Gruden is to QBs. They have a good reliable one, but something new comes along and they want it even if it isn't better than what they have.
3. Jay Cutler needs to stop bragging that his arm is stronger than Elway's. News flash, when you say you don't want to be compared to Elway it would help to stop comparing yourself to Elway, because I promise you no one else is. Elway could win a big game.
4. Get defensive. Defense in Denver was just Fairy tale this season. Whatever happend to that Champ Bailey guy? Wasn't he the best cover corner at some point? The pillsbury Doughboy would be tougher on the D-line than anyone you have.
5. Build a time machine and keep Clinton Portis. We finally know who won that trade, I can give you a hint it wasn't Denver. Clinton Portis was the top Mvp cantidate most of the season, while Chump is aging rapidly.

Cutler also needs to stop worrying about Philip Rivers and stop calling him out. Right now he is a long way from Rivers in "Big Game" performance level. With improvement he could carry the Broncos the way that Rivers carried the Chargers fro most of this season.

As a Broncos fan since the mid-70s, I find it hard to argue with you... Especially after the drubbing we took on Sunday night. Good points. I personally don't see how Champ Bailey is considered so great - and has been promoted as such every season since he came to Denver. He gets burned all the time.

Champ is better than any corner San Diego can dream of having. It was Dre Bly that got worked this year, not Champ.

somewhat unbiased from a Chargers fan... key word is somewhat..
NO WAY Denver lost the trade for Portis, Champ has been the best CB in the game since coming to Denver. Protis is hot and cold.
As for what happened to Champ this year HE WAS HURT, missed 7 games and was forced to come back too early to help playoff hopes... trust me when I say #24 will back back in 2009.
All of that said the D needs a major overhaul, and some coaching changes need to be made..
SD good luck in the playoffs, you are gonna need it.

And how do you explain the problems he had last year?

I'm glad Bailey is on the Broncos. We have no need for him in San Diego. The Boltz sacked Shanahan!

hey Confucius, I'd love to have kept Portis and managed to get Bailey but truth is Portis hasn't done anything in the playoffs for the Redskins so I guess it balanced out for both teams.

It's funny, the Chargers were dogs for so many years, now they have a decent team and they're telling other teams how to win? SD is 8-8 and needed a major collapse by a lousy team to make the playoffs in the weakest conference in football? Spare us, Charger fans.

I agree with the Cliff man. Folks, if your team has NEVER WON a SUPERBOWL your team ain't **** period........ I believe any team in the AFC West is a doggggg!! They shouldn't even be going to the playoff when teams like New England won't go with much better records. When was it the last time the Chargers won a SUPERBOWL????? DAAAAAA, how about NEVERRRRRR!!!!
