The Declining Pro Bowl

A few years ago one of the biggest things around was the pro bowl. Everybody wanted to see their favorite players. Now it is a completely meaningless game that can force key players into injury. It will decline even more in 2010 when the pro bowl will be a week before the super bowl. Chances are the two teams competing in the super bowl will have many stars in the pro bowl. These players will not want to risk injuries over an exhibition game. Fan voting has become overrated after Brett Favre and Jason Taylor were among the crazy pro bowl nods depriving Chad Pennington, Matt Forte, Philip Rivers, and especially London Fletcher of the pro bowl. The worst of all was mister yearly nothing, Derrick Brooks, being in yet another pro bowl that he never deserved to be in! Tickets are at skyrocketing prices, and even free tix are meaningless, in this economy who would buy them? Bottom line: if I get free pro bowl tickets, you can have them half off.
